The stomping of little Maera's feet did not rouse him, but the loud drone of her voice surely did. Larus jostled awake with a start, blinking his still-blue eyes to rid them of their fog. He mewled pathetically as he came to a wakeful state, and the sound evolved to match his sister's exceptional voice: "RAAAAA!"
