When Vulture extended her toes, Moon Runner willingly inspected them. Puddles! Pellets! Trails! Her pack-sister led quite an adventurous life and discovered many hidden wonders another wolf might have overlooked. She had a keen eye, just like the condor for which she was named.

Moon Runner expressed her amusement and interest with a wide smile, which sent her tongue hanging down. Hree, hree, hreee, she wheezed in a cheery way.

Then, she rolled onto her belly (pale fur wet with dead thatch sticking to her here and there) and cocked her head as if to ask, would you take me on an adventure with you?
