The wolf watched, hoping his queen and the rest of her followers would capture their prey without any wolf being pulled into the frozen depths that was the lake. Kaname held his breath, his wintry eyes focused on the pale queen and her only. It would be a tragedy if any of the others was dragged in, but his life would figuratively, and possible literally, end if she was killed today.
