A shaky voice called, "Go away," from down inside the hole. Peregrine's ear flicked and he leered without moving. Truthfully, he wasn't planning on sticking around very long. It aggravated him that the pup would go unscathed, yet it wasn't worth his time. In fact, he climbed back onto his feet, ears folded and teeth bared as he prepared to walk away.

The pup's small voice stopped him before he had gone more than four steps. The swarthy wolf turned and stormed back toward the hole, his anger building again at the pup's mouthy threats. He knew he couldn't get at him any more than before, so what he did instead was position himself over the hole, hike a leg into the air and piss right into it. His back then humped as he balanced over it, defecating furiously into the makeshift latrine.

With a final snort, Peregrine righted himself and trotted toward the woods' edge, collecting Nightjar on the way and heading home to the caldera.
