The days had been long and harsh, yet he was glad to be able to return to Saltwinter. The tangy salty scent of fish and blood drifted towards him, and ahead them, he could see the entrance to the grotto. It was high tide right now, the waves crashing strongly against the shore, shaking the ground beneath their feet. The power of the ocean never ceased to amaze him, he though as they neared the grotto.

The sudden howl that came from her surprised him, yet he respectfully backed off. If she wished to be the dominant one in this situation, and take it into her own grasp, he would respect her choice. This was her story about to unfold, and while he played a part in it, he would be nothing more than a minor character here. Yet he waited and watched, for Caiaphas to appear, and to see how his queen would take to his newfound friend.
