Despite having no real reason to wander toward the lake, Barristan found his paws had a mind of their own. The light that filtered through the murky dusk spilled across the water, catching every ripple across the otherwise shiny, smooth surface. Barristan had traveled here with a cohort of his former Sterrenvurr packmates, and while he loved them dearly and had promised his father and uncle that he'd watch over them on their journey, he needed his own space tonight. Giving that promise had been an easy one; they had all wanted to go on an adventure, and Barristan hadn't been picky with which direction.

So, it was many weeks after their departure from Faerie Glen, and they had arrived in a picturesque, yet seemingly sparsely inhabited area. It was much like Seahawk in that it had varying types of areas to explore, from mountain crags to valleys and hillsides and lakes, and Barristan was happy to have come here. Julooke and Verrine, being the older of the companions, had decided to stay for a bit, and Barristan hadn't argued. It would be nice to rest his road-weary paws in these abundant lands.

Barristan approached the lake without much thought and saw a silvery wolf seated on the edge of it, not too far from where he walked. Instead of walking up and introducing himself (this wasn't Sterrenvuur, after all), he gave a warm bark of greeting and wagged his tail, showing he was amiable and not there to cause any trouble. Then after a moment he asked, "What's wrong with your foot?"
