Greatwater Lake catacomb

Dusk. The land felt somewhat eerily silent as the lone wolf continued on his journey through twisting trees and uneven earth. Roo had been walking for so many hours that he could not entirely remember all the places he'd covered today. One thing he was absolutely certain of was the fact that he was well in need of quenching his thirst. With that in mind, his steps were relatively slow as he headed towards the lake. Perhaps he would have been inclined to move faster if it wasn't for his crippled leg, more painful than usual tonight.

A brief pause to glance up at the starlit sky, Roo's hefty tail gave a few appreciative flicks. It was a pretty summer night, warm and dry without being painfully sticky. The large lake in the foreground looked certainly appealing and so he pressed onward, glad to finally be walking on flat ground that enabled his paw to be somewhat rested. He had always been a keen explorer and keen to see as much of the world as he could, but sometimes he needed moments like this to remind him that resting was a highly important task.

When he finally reached the edge of the body of water, the grey male dipped his face in and took a long drink. A contented sigh left his lips as he took a step back, sitting on the bank and gazing into the water. His left forepaw was raised and held towards his chest and he frowned on realising this was becoming a familiar stance. Despite having had the injury for a number of months, his leg did not want to heal. It looked perfectly fine to any unknowing eye but in reality, it was brittle and sore and it seemed that would always be the case.
