Great Bear Wilderness What do you see in those yellow eyes?

A howl rippled through the air, and the cream female flicked her ears toward the sound. Her muzzle swung in the direction of the eerie call, and her legs heaved her to her feet. These lands were spotted with packs, though she knew naught their names. Her legs carried her forward, paws scuffing against earth, her frame thin from the famine that had ravaged the wilds. But the locust swarm had not reaked permanent havoc, and here and there signs of regrowth were evident. The trees were full of green buds, and the ground was covered in tiny sprouts and green.

She approached the girl with her ears forward and tail lowered slightly in a neutral stance, her chocolate eyes taking in the stark blankness of the woman's coat. She sat near a scent line, of which pack she did not know, but it seemed faint. Still, she did not like to be near such a place, as she was a lone wolf and the pack wolves she did meet sometimes chased away intruders with the threat of death. This female did not bear pack-scent on her coat, and Fluer flicked her tail nervously. She chuffed in greeting, peering past the borders once or twice. This felt wrong, somehow. "Hello" she said, a small smile on her maw.

But to her surprise, the wolf simply turned and left. Stunned a moment, she slowly turned and loped away from the borders, confusion evident on her features.
