Burke was a bit over protective, but with a good reasoning. This female seemed to be lost herself, and if they were going to bother with her too Burke was not sure if they would ever get to a nice territory to settle. They had to keep to their own only, it was better that way.
Burke grabbed Vassago and followed the river, after all there had to be a more shallow part somewhere. Maybe this river could guide them to some nice grounds. Luckily for him the girls didn't protect and accepted him leading them away.
