Pyro was tiny, but had the boy been any smaller he would not have survived the ride. He swallowed dangerous amounts of water, which also got in his eyes, nose and ears before Burke could pull him out of the river. And in that moment he knew he wouldn't get close to a river ever again.

The boy was shaking horribly when Burke placed him down in the floor next to his brother, and coughed the water he'd swallowed back up. He could not hear Burke's growls rumbling above him, his ears were still hearing the flushing and deafening noise of the river. He just wanted to get back to mom as soon as possible, and his instinctive reaction was to cry for her. He whimpered and whined, which would probably only add to his father's bad mood. However, for once he found comfort in his bully brother, who instead of picking on him as usually, stepped up to stop his own father from eating him up. Pyro snuggled up behind the larger pup, trying to get as much heat from him as he could to survive.
