His mother walked alongside him now, seemingly leading him somewhere. He did not wonder where this may be, not caring much, but realizing that he was quite thirsty. It was to his joy then, when his mother took him to a stream. She went to stand in the shallows, drinking deeply, and for a moment he hung back. 

Then, excited, he bounded toward the water, plopping into the water with a splash. He felt instantly cold, which was delightful in this heat, a for a few moments splashed around obliviously. After some time, though, he grew tired of this and drank deeply, stomach level with the water.
