Emberwood hunger

Palisander watched how the pup curled into a ball. The female explained to him that she was only trying to help. He looked at her with a frown because what she did didn't seem to help. She clearly wasn't a mother. But he was not going to tell that to her face. "Okay," he spoke slowly, noticing that the pup had gone more quiet. "If that pup has a broken leg you can better just kill him right now. It is going to grow back crooked and he won't be able to walk or run well," he pointed out.

The pup wanted to go and Palisander looked at him skeptically. "You can, but I am not sure this female will let you," he pointed out. "That leg isn't good kid. You need to see a medic who can fix that leg of yours. You should go home to your parents. Where is your home? I or we could walk with you," he offered.
