Unlike his brother, Pyro wasn't showing many signs of being a large wolf in his adult years. Vassago grew taller every day, and his energy was uncontainable, but Pyro, although growing at a steady rate, would never match his brother in any physical way. He wasn't going to become tall, he wasn't going to become strong. He was going to be Pyro, and that was a curious boy who loved watching the world working around him.

Last time he came this close to a river he almost died, but for some reason Pyro could not help but feel attracted to the streaming water. Every day he was given more freedom to roam around the den, and every day he pushed his limits even further, all for one reason: the world was too big to stay inside.

Laying on the riverbend, with his head posed on his front paws Pyro watched the water run by, amazed by how it glittered at some points and by the soothing shades of blue. He didn't dare go inside, he was still scared of drowning, but once every while he would slam his paw at it and giggle at the splash. He did that for a while, and would have for much longer, daring to go closer every time if he hadn't been surprised by mom. He opened his eyes wide open when he heard her, she would be mad at him again, but when his eyes met her figure he realized it wasn't mom who had walked by. It was someone else, someone he had seen before but did not yet recognize, and the little one watched him submerge himself in the water in awe. He yipped at the male from the edge of the water, worried now that the water would hurt the older male the same way it'd hurt him.
