Vass was a little upset he didn't grab the close-by tail, but he did manage to get a brief grip on Dag's smoky flank. The older boy went dramatically to the ground, and though it pleased Vass, he had to remind himself that though this wasn't a real lesson or spar, it would still help him in the long run. It was a game.

Dagfinn pulled free, and for a moment Vass just stood proud and tall, stump curled over his rump, yellow eyes watching his playmate. When the dark figure fell still, Vassago rushed forward and pounced for the ribs, paws aiming to jab and teeth aiming to bite playfully. He was happy to do this, waiting for Dag to give in from his attacks, watching as he moved away and "died", attacking in a new way each time: a bite to the butt, a bunch of paw-smacks in the face, yanking on his tail -- not all of them worked, but nonetheless it was fun to do.
