Pebble Boy, they called him. Though if Remy had been in their shoes rather than his own, he probably would've done the same. Since he'd been a pup himself, Remy always had his snout to the ground. It was the earth that interested him, the way that it sustained the beauty that was life. He adored every bit of it. 
With winter coming, however, the land slowly began to fade to gray and Remy knew that soon, all life would struggle through the season. Thus, he was spending time examining the earth for tracks - if he could, then he would stalk whatever prey was near and hopefully have something to contribute to the cache once he was finished.
In his mind, he knew that large game wasn't possible on his own, so he hoped that whoever crossed his path next would be in the mood for a chase.
