Gannet let his full momentum carry through, intending to leap teeth-first and make this intruder regret coming, but the adult was too agile.  Not put out by his miss, Gannet whirled, only to moments later feel teeth press at his nape.

To the boy, this was a full on defense against one he thought an intruder, and so he did not accept the gesture as a dominance move.  Instead he tore his nape from the weak grasp and snapped hard at the newcomer's shoulder and chest area, now with a warning snarl - Get out.
