That delightful hum of nature that goes often ignored by those who forget how sacred the ecosystem truly is not unnoticed by the wolf. The wolf delights in it's role as a predator, rarely a prey. There is the thump thump of rabbit feet, the buzz of the bee, and the songs of bird. Add in the chorus of water, of breeze, of raindrop, of rocks falling, sticks cracking, and so much more. Then to have it all fade suddenly away as paws pound the earth with lackadaisical wandering.

The large Rocky mountain male realized all too suddenly that the temperature, and humidity had spiked and he paused with sudden startle to allow this environment to truly come to his eyes. While he had grown in mountains, it was rare to find a hot spring. He had come from the north, new to the area and had not expected to walk right into a damp, tropical environment. His lemon eyes sought the intricacies and slowly his grey furred body had begun to move forward in it's quest. A true gem in the heart of what he imagined to be a thriving environment.

There were species of plant that you wouldn't find in any old forest or meadow, and there they were nestled in cracks and crags, their livelihood fed by the warmth of volcanic activities. So many lessons had been learned, that he knew better than to consider remaining within the hot-springs for any length of time. But an afternoon of exploration would be more than deserving. As the sun reached it's peak in the sky, his gaze paused for but a second to observe. The hours would count quickly to sunset, and by then, he hoped to have advanced through the hot springs and to have found a suitable place to rest his head before continuing to learn of this region. He wondered if he was now far enough away from humans to not need to worry about their meddling in his affairs.

There was no reason to be concerned that they had explored this region frequently for the trail of plastic, glass, and other human wastes had not interfered in several days. Instead, he observed some insects delighting in their collection of resources.
