She was in pain. Her body lay in exactly the same place as it has been when her leg had been violently torn off. The blood was still in a pool around the woman's tail and hind leg, which from a distance you wouldn't realise was not attached. The blood was covering it in more ways than one. First there was the actual liquid, thick and red; then there was the scent. The salty smell was sure to bring someone over. That was the only thing keeping her eyes open. 

Though perhaps it would attract a hostile creature.
