The stranger doesn’t seem to be able to get comfortable as he constantly moves from sitting to standing and back again, then eventually lowering into a bow. Thuringwethil, during the whole time, barely moves an inch and nor is the reason outwardly obvious. Months of training on how to present oneself as Heda is enough to make the stiffness in her bones and the best way to stand to keep her ribs from hurting too much. Only when she takes a breath too large does she carefully release, hiding the pain in a slow exhale instead. Watching the other move in a way she knows she currently cannot makes her feel on edge but she doesn’t doubt she can at least get away if something is to turn sour.

“That depends on what you need,” she says after a moment, “sometimes you don’t know until you’re here.”

Through vague words, Thuringwethil knows the truth behind them. For months she denied her soul on the sea when she and her clan stayed on the dragon and her last visit before the move had been an eye opener. The words hadn’t been obvious but the feeling was there and she knew she should have followed her gut for the sleeping dragon woke and told her her purpose. Even if she doesn’t look back on their former home, she finds a small piece still vacant within her chest but the sea has managed to fill enough that she doesn’t need to worry about it.

it never belonged to you in the first place
