Zane didn't take any offense from Imaran's sarcasm. He was used to it his brother dismissing his boasting in favor of more realistic goals, yet it didn't discourage him. It was more fun to shoot high.
He simply bumped his shoulder to his brother's with affectionate teasing and threw back a flippant "That's the spirit," grinning because he knew Imaran was rarely on board with anything he did. Yet he never doubted if his brother would have his back when shit hit the fan; a big part of why he was so glad Imaran was here.
"How far d'y think we are from mom and da's old place?" He asked, looking at the sun. They'd heard the stories, and gotten a general concept of where it was, but obviously stories only took one so far. Whether that was actually where they would end up, Zane wasn't sure, but he wouldn't mind seeing the mountain he'd heard so much about.
