All Welcome
Life had grown quiet — and quietude did not suit the lavish starlet well! In an attempt to stave off boredom, Indie had taken to finding different ways to entertain herself; from bossing around those she came across to finessing her pelagic swimming so that it would not fall below her own standards — and when Indie couldn’t lash her long legs in the ocean waters [strong enough to churn entirely new currents], she sought out freshwater sources and reveled in those. A love of the water had been instilled within her, and that was not so easily lost!

When she was not swimming, the vaudevillian was developing her fishing talents [an ability which required a different tact than that used to hunt land prey] — and when she wasn’t sating her appetite, the dark woman could be found practicing the language of the forgotten sirens, reciting the words and phrases Kalika had taught her during their reciprocal lessons and tasting the sounds on her quicksilver tongue. Oh, how she had missed those sounds! Often times her repetition viva voce would transition into song and then she would drill her modulation; and yes it may all have seemed fun, but it was all in the name of self improvement.

That evening, the vaudevillian was enjoying [what had come to be] her favorite location of her recent vagrancy. The grotto was nestled inland, far from where river ran into the sea. Still the sea’s tide pushed forth and hollowed out a cavity in the bedrock, where the brackish waters edified and life along the water’s edge stilled. It was often that the woman stalked about the shores of the grotto, catlike in her movements and loud of voice, making her own merriment amongst the nothingness of the ravine; and it was there that the woman stalked about right then, as the sun began its grand descent behind the island’s peaks. The twilight called to her, so she tilted her chin so that her lips brushed the sky and her voice thrummed from deep in her chest as she sang.

For the night, it was black and silver.
With the moon shine right across the water.
And there's a glitter kaleidoscope
Spilling into the eyes that glide to heavens

There's a mirror of magnificent feelings,
And we must toast to the heart of it all.
To you my friends, and to this moon.
Back to you now, back to the moon.
“what a lovely day" says the butcher as she raises her arm
