Osprey's heart leaped in joy, when she saw Peregrine and, even though the fact that he disagreed with her leaving was evident, he walked over and greeted her just as always. Things hadn't changed between them and this meant a lot to her. He was her centre of the world after all, her best friend and soul-mate. Losing him would mean losing a very important part of her. Therefore she smiled at him sincerely and nuzzled the fur at the side of his neck in return.

"So will I," she replied. "Look," she beckoned to the rock by her feet, "I got a present for you." Osprey then cast a quick glance around, looking for a decently sunny spot and found one. She picked up her gift and went over to put it in the sunlight. It reflected the light a little and glowed like an ember. "Funny, little trinket I found in the river. Rational minds will find an explanation, why it is the way it is - but for me - I think someone trapped a bit of sunlight in the stone," she looked at her brother, beaming.

"And you are one of the people, who needs the sunlight the most."
