Nikai waited to see what Howl was doing here, surprised to hear that he had been offered a place in Easthollow and wanted to join still. He'd been about to ask what pack Howl was from, but it turned out he was a loner looking for a home. Nikai thought of the young loners he had met along the coast this summer, wondering if they had found a home by now.
