She studied him a moment, considering his words. He certainly didn't seem like a liar, and she had no reason not to believe what he was saying. And so, she decided she believed him. Her tail wagged briefly, and she licked her chops as he offered her the better, as she considered it, half of their meal. Her expression changed, softed. 

Thank you, she said gratefully. She chowed down on her meal, hoping he would still eat his half, even if he wasn't that hungry. She would eat, and once finished, stay to make some more conversation with Howl. She would come to find that she liked him, and hoped to hunt with him again in the future.
