All Welcome
Please let @Cardinal post first! <3 Also, I believe this backdated to May 23/24.
So far, things were going great! The light drizzle of the previous day had shifted overnight to reveal a cloudy, rainless, morning. They'd yet to encounter any snares or strangers looking for trouble, and Clary found that the fair weather made the bison skin much easier to carry. She shrugged the slipping skin to fit square upon her back again. A knot burned between her shoulders, but she carried along with a cheer to her step regardless. Red wasn't complaining, and she wasn't much different in size nor physique - so though she gave the occasional wince, she wouldn't complain either.

Clary hummed along in this quiet stretch and mentally recited the path of their travels. Fox's Glade. Duck Lake. Go west, check, check, check! The sound of water piling nearby told her they were nearing the river. In truth, she'd been dreading this part of the trip from the start, but Clary tried to remind herself that Red wouldn't let her drown. She knew death didn't care about age - it had taken Keoni and Burr just as it had taken Murdock - but if they were careful and worked together, surely they'd make it safely across. Mom wouldn't have sent them this way, otherwise.

But of course, she hadn't accounted to find a pack here, and she side glanced at Red from beneath the shadow of the skin. "Uh..." what were they supposed to do now? The scent seemed to wrap all the way along the river's edge, claiming both the waterway and the land they needed to cross on the otherside. "Do we just... go around?" But the river stretched on for miles - was there even a way around? Her uncertain watch remained on Red. They couldn't just march on through - but surely the outrider knew what to do.
