Wapun Meadow remember the day we were giving up

aria had never sought solidarity. in her time alone, though some of her memories returned, she drove herself mad. she longed for companionship, to be loved. as her memories resurfaced all it reminded her of was how lonely she was. she missed taltos and casmir, men she had remembered loving, and she missed constantine and komodo, men that she had she knew she loved-- even if only platonically. 

so why, right now, was she being so standoffish? perhaps her loneliness, her confusion, was driving her to find constantine now. anything else was merely a distraction, a road block, and she had no time for delay. perhaps if the stranger were closer, he might not've confused her emotional exhaustion with the belief that she didn't want company. 

could she have read minds, aria would've felt terrible that she'd made him regret being vulnerable to her. 

but, again, aria was not unfriendly, and though she desperately wished to find constantine or... someone she recognized, she was lonely. and this was company. 

she shook her head. "no, not really," she said softly, sweetly, offering the male a small smile. someone, but many someones, and not one was better than the other. aria just wanted a piece of her life back, something tangible, instead of these dreadful, mangled, fractions of memories. she didn't want to go through the bases, either-- explaining why she needed to find these wolves was just too tiresome. she moved on. "my name is aria january," she told him, taking a small step in his direction. but when there was nothing he could help her with, he merely nodded and parted ways. oh well, thought aria, not really in the mood to open up to a stranger right now any how.
