All Welcome
Blinking her eyes slowly open, the mottled brown wolf stirred. She woke from a mostly restful slumber though at what felt like an awkward time, noticing as she lifted her head from her outstretched foreleg that it appeared to be mid-afternoon. Sunlight filtered through the massively tall trees that surrounded her, sheltered her here in this stretch of mountain-guarded woodland. So much for establishing good habits.

Mitanni yawned widely and drew herself to her paws with a languid stretch, gently shaking her pelt after she'd righted herself. For being on the small side, she appeared even scrawnier than usual, ragged and twiggy beneath her short brown fur. The difficult, solitary life she'd been living the past couple years was evident in the look of her, and especially in the hungry look of her amber eyes.

Her stomach didn't growl, didn't gurgle, but she didn't need to hear it to know her body needed sustenance. Meals were small, hardly filling, and would become increasingly harder to come by very soon. It was a shame she didn't hold much hope of fattening herself up before winter set in.

With her slim, hollow belly on her mind, the female padded forward and off into the towering sequoia forest, nose skimming the ground in her endless pursuit for her next meager meal.
