Apple was a very peaceful creature and had not got in a single fight in her entire life, therefore the little wildling's showing off and the desperate readiness to engage in a fight had confused her. What for, really? The scraps? She looked down at her feet, where four paws, pieces of backbone and the whole head were still remaining. After all, if the other had wanted food, she should have simply asked. But shyness has many forms of, how it is manifested and she concluded that perhaps this person was not aggressive, because she was being an ass, but because she did not know any other way.

"OY!" she called out to the coywolf, who, hopefully, was still in the vicinity. "You can have the rest, if you wish," she told, getting up, shaking her coat and without a second look back left the remnants of her meal unguarded. The forest was a big place, it would give her plenty of to do, until she returned an hour or two later to check out, whether the kid had taken her advice or not. If the latter was the case, she would clean up the dish herself. Apple knew better than to let good food go to waste.

Give the kid something to eat. :) Last one from me.
