A part of him had only been kidding around. When she admitted to having visited him before he was awe-struck for a moment, surprised the child would take the time and visit a stranger (especially so for one not technically part of their pack); but then, this was Kukutux' daughter, and it was reasonable to believe Sialuk had inherited some level of kindness from her mother. That or, she had been following and observing the practice of medicine. Charon had made sure to teach his children to fight, so it made sense to Revui that someone like Kukutux would teach their children the opposite.

If it is alright with your mother. He says. It sort-of felt like he was back in the Nightwalker pit, orchestrating a scheme of some kind. Sialuk his only confidante. In this case Revui was only stuck because of his newly acquired weakness; he was not held here against his will, he would not need to fight or escape from anything. He could relax to some degree, let the girl and her mother help him.

He made a small mental note to thank them somehow, eventually.

The woods have always been filled with these soft doe-eyed things;
with hearts beating for the arrow, the bullet, the lance.

I have always been the huntsman.  ⤑
