someone to hunt with, perhaps? :)

Since Caiaphas had vanished and she was out on her own, Pantaleimon had wandered. For a few days, she had stayed in Ankyra Sound, but now that it was evident that Ankyra Sound would not stay a pack, for there was no strong leader to take things over, and many of the other Sirens had gone back to their respective former packs, Pantaleimon wandered. She was not sure why she wandered inland; there were no packs by the coastal area, it seemed, and she was not sure she could join any if there were. After all, they would only remind her of Mother Sea and Pantaleimon felt as though she was betraying Mother Sea by not returning home right away, or finding another Siren home -- going with Minthe and company, for example -- to serve as Consort. But something pulled Pantaleimon away, into indecisiveness, uncertainty, doubt.

Pantaleimon was pulled from her doubt when she lifted her head and, through the piny forest, saw a clearing with a couple of deer there; five, that she could count. Pantaleimon lowered herself to the ground. Her neck, shoulders and back were partially covered in dry green seaweed -- with a pink conch and a dried seastar on her neck -- which sheltered her white pelt from the deers' sight.

Pantaleimon closed in slowly. She spotted one emaciated creature that looked older. Pantaleimon was hungry, not liking the life of a lone wolf, and she looked around, hoping that another wolf would join her so that she could hopefully hunt down the emaciated, older deer.
