The grizzled man had perhaps the same idea as she, but while she had her suspicions, his words were vague and she couldn't tell for sure. And as much as she wished to stay far away from both these packs for her own safety, she wasn't about to abandon the injured boy to a solo trek back to his Redhawk Caldera. It wasn't like she had anywhere to be as it was, so she added, "You're in no condition to travel alone," as her own unspoken commitment to seeing the boy home safely. Even if he persisted against them both, she was set, and nothing he said would budge her from her decision to help.
