Playing out some 2 month milestone for Sesi! Does someone want to take her on a trip away from the den? :D Maybe @Scarlett and Desna want this one?

Although she remained the most cautious of the pups, Sesi's confidence grew with each milestone she conquered. She escaped the den without coaxing, took to solid food without much complaint, and played with her siblings. Desna was a firm favourite; her enthusiasm for life and patience with Sesi's quirks had wrought a strong bond between the two siblings.

When Sesi poked her head out of the den that morning, it was misty and a little cold. The young pup eyed the fuzzy forms of the outside world with a mixture of apprehension and curiosity, but eventually wrestled her fears to the ground. "Denna!" she 'whispered' (actually shouted) into the den. "Go ow-sai!" Desna wasn't usually one to turn down an adventure.

I'd love a Mother-Daughter bonding moment!! <3

Scarlett knew that her babies were going to get bigger and bigger, but she liked that Sesi was slightly less keen to go out. Luckily she wasn't showing too much abnormal behavior of not wanting to go out. The mother sometimes realized that even Sesi had gone exploring. The red eyed mother was more than happy for her. She had taking Xan to the borders recently and now, once she woke up, she decided that maybe today would be a good day to spend with Sesi. Most of them had already moved to the rendezvous site to sleep, and then explore from there. Scarlett didn't comment of Sesi still being by the cave, it was her home after all. And maybe she was more a den wolf rather than a wolf that liked to sleep in the open air.

"Hello, my little Sesi," she greeted her and licked over the top of her head. Scarlett's tail wagged kindly and her voice was a warm as ever. "Desna already left for an adventure. But do you want to go on an adventure with mommy?," she asked, hoping that her daughter wouldn't decline it. She knew how sensitive she could be with going to new places, hopefully the pup would be calmed by the fact that her mother would be with her. "I can show you the waterfall, or Arthur the bear, or even the herd of deer," she offered.

Desna did not respond. Come to think of it, Sesi could not remember if her sister had even slept in the den - most of the family had abandoned the caves, but Sesi found herself returning to it when night started to fall; especially when it rained. Why sleep under a stupid tree when you could snuggle up in the safety of the den?

It was Scarlett that would take her up on the demand for adventure. She cooed at her daughter, smearing a kiss on top of her head that Sesi pretended to be totally grossed out by. "ALL," the little sprite yapped in response to her mother's list of potential destinations. She was feeling particularly brave today, and there was rather a lot to catch up on - Xan had already been to some Adult Places, and her desire for safety fought with the need to do and experience everything that her siblings did.

In an unusual show of bravery, the pup flounced out into the mist, going in no direction in particular. "C'MON!" she yelled impatiently.

Scarlett laughed softly at her adorable daughter. She watched how the youngster was keen with exploring and that was good. Scarlett moved after her, deciding that she would probably educate her along the way. There was no way that they could see all, but they might get a peek of the deer herd and the waterfall. Scarlett watched as the girl rushed forward. She put on a trot and caught up with her in the high grass. She was planning on giving the pups some swimming lessons soon, but now once they reached the river she might have to carry the little girl. Scarlett looked around if she saw anything interesting for the little girl. She picked her up and placed her on a fallen log by the river side.

"Okay, do you see those big brown creatures over there? They are called Deer. We hunt and eat them," Scarlett explained to her little one. Because she was sitting on the log Sesi could probably see better, the grass was sometimes too high at certain places. Scarlett loved to see her daughter so active. She would need to keep that spirit. She let her watch for a moment. The herd still seemed alarmed by the sight of the main gamekeeper and looked at them from the other side of the river.

Sesi struggled through the tall grass, goose-stepping awkwardly alongside her mother. Now and then her enthusiasm for adventure would falter in face of so many obstacles, but with Scarlett at her side, the cautious pup persevered. They made it to the edge of the river, where - not without protest - Sesi was lifted bodily onto a log. She looked a little uncertain about being so far off the ground, but was successfully distracted by a point of interest. "Deer!" the girl repeated in a high shriek; barking at the prey on the other side of the water. They stared back at the fuzzy lump, unimpressed. Sesi turned to face her mother, wobbling on the slippery surface of the log. "When I'm-m big, I hunt," she declared with unusual certainty, puffing out her narrow chest.

Scarlett had her front paws against the log and looked at them. She chuckled at the cuteness at the pup. The deer looked unimpressed but Scarlett could tell that they were guarded with the wolves around. "I know for sure you will," she murmured. "I'm a hunter and I will let you learn," she hummed. Scarlett licked Sesi as a praise and then stepped back. "Can you jump off yourself? Or do you need mommy to help you?," she asked, trying to see how brave her little girl could be.

Scarlett then wanted to take Sesi to the water fall, the grass would slowly turn lower from where the deer grazed. Which would be perfect for some running and stretching their legs. Scarlett could be very playful and she liked to play and socialize with her pups. "C'mon Sesi! I will race you over the grass!," she suggested , and started running at a pace Sesi could still catch up with her.

Sesi gave her mother a huffy little look - of course she could get off the log without assistance. The little girl masked her fear until her mother's back was turned, then spent a few nervous moments planning her plunge to the ground - reaching down the side of the damp log like a kitten trying to come to grips with a step.

No sooner had she landed, breathless but triumphant, than her mother suggested a race. Sesi was not one to turn down a challenge (even though her heart nearly exploded at the sight of grass that was taller than she was in places), and responded with a firm nod. Scarlett loped off, making easy progress through the Jungle of Danger, leaving Sesi to overcome her fear alone.

With her mother growing smaller by the second, the pup simply had to go for it. Sesi gathered her breath and ran, legs pumping beneath her and eyes shut tight against potential danger. "MOOOOMMMMYYY-!" she roared.

Scarlett was running forward not realizing she might be a little quick for her little girl. Sesi was so cute! She instantly stopped when she heard her cry. When she turned around she realized that Sesi was charging at her with her eyes closed. Scarlett chuckled at the cuteness. "I'm here!," she assured, warning the pup with her voice that she was still close. "Open your eyes, sweetheart," she hummed warmly. It was something that was very important, they used hearing and smell of course, but vision was something a wolf must have to even survive.

They were heading towards the waterfall, the steep walls growing closer and closer together. The pale mother nudged Sesi and licked over her cheek to calm her down. "You did great! See how brave you are. So proud of you. Such a big girl," she praised. They came to a part of the river that was rather deep and with a strong current so Scarlett picked Sesi up for a moment and helped her across so they could reach the waterfall better. "Stay close to mommy okay?," she hummed, not to worried about that.

Sesi pried open one of her silvery eyes, still breathing heavily from her sprint. She did not leave the safety of her mother's limbs for the remainder of the journey, nearly tripping her over on several occasions. The closer they got to the waterfall, the more difficult the little girl became. She began to gulp down air in quick, shallow breaths, and by the time Scarlett set her down on the other side of the river, her daughter was lightheaded with panic. "Nonono!" the girl whimpered, folding herself into a compact ball at her mother's feet. The roar of water was further scrambling her brain, and the tears were not far off now. "Go home!" she pleaded, not raising her nose from where it nestled at her trembling chest.

Scarlett looked at her daughter who as really starting to get affected by the rushing water. She made sure that her body stayed above the one of her daughter. The female licked over the top of her head. "I'm here. I'm here," she spoke with her warm tone and nosed Sesi. She wanted to calm the little girl. "We are so close! Do you want to go all the way back? ," she asked. If the girl wanted to then she would take her back but Scarlett would like her daughter to show some determination.

The light hearted mother kept comforting her daughter. "You are doing so good already, just look at how far you have become." She sat down next to her. "Whenever you are ready."

Her mother's encouragement was for naught. Sesi had gone too far down the path of NOPE, and would not answer her mother with anything more than furious shakes of her little head. If she had 'come so far', wasn't it enough? Why push the subject? Anger mingled with fear in Sesi's breast, raising her chin in defiance. "HOME," she bellowed, squinting at her other through the fat tears that beaded the corners of both eyes and clung desperately to her lashes.

Scarlett looked down at her youngster that was so set on going home. The mother wolf licked over the top of her head again. "Alright. Alright," she spoke softly to calm her down. The mother nudged her to her feet. "C'mon lets go home then. We will see the waterfall another time." Scarlett didn't want to pressure her pup too much. She wanted to maintain a good relationship with her and Scarlett knew that if she would pressure too much. Scarlett looked over her young daughter. The waterfall was just around the corner really but if her daughter really didn't want to go... Scarlett looked up, ears falling back. Sesi wasn't very keen on knowing this world was she?

Thank you, oh wolf-jesus. Sesi did not pray in these exact words, or really at all, but she felt a rush of gratitude when Scarlett gave in to her protestations. They didn't have to visit the hissing noisemaker after all - they could go home again, and cuddle in the safety of Known Land.

Sesi allowed herself to be kissed, and reluctantly returned her mother's affections with a quick swipe of her tongue against the older woman's chin. Without waiting, the little girl began to toddle back in the direction they had come, moving as fast as her shaky little legs could carry her.

Scarlett smiled when she got some affection back from her daughter. But soon after she sped away. The mother was quick to chase after her. "Sesi, wait," she spoke and sped up. Scarlett kept herself next to her daughter. They soon reached the water and automatically the mother grabbed her daughter and lifted her over it. Scarlett shook herself out after crossing the river.

A soft sigh came from her lips, hopefully Sesi would grow out of her fearful state. She at least hoped so. She kept a smiling expression at her daughter though. It was already good of her that she was sleeping outside. That was definitely a plus.

Last post from me!

The closer to got to home, the calmer Sesi became - she didn't even squirm when Scarlett lifted her over the water, and was babbling happily at her parent by the time they were on the final approach to home. Measured on Sesi's terms, this was progress - good progress. Little by little, she would grow to accept the world and its vastness - even love it. Though, there wasn't much hope of her ever becoming an outrider.

I will archive!

Scarlett was relieved when her daughter went back and became more chatty and happy on more. The mother smiled as she returned questions to their conversation. Her tail started to wag a bit, it seemed that the accidentally was a bit forgotten. Scarlett was pleased that it didn't seem to have scarred the pup. A soft hum came from her lips.

-Fade end! -
