All welcome xD. Her first thread, so yay :P.

The young lady had much to learn about these parts, much less that of those within it. Ears flicking that nose had been going to work gathering what she could in this area, far as those herbs went. Going from the very common to quite the rare collection of herbs, it was far from easy but with experience the serpent pulled them out of the ground, tore them off trees or inside of logs. It mattered little as to where a herb maybe hiding, that keen nose always found them. Though the big task had yet to come into place, which was digging out a proper den for them.

Adding what herbs the lady had gathered carefully into the spider webbed bundle, the serpent found her self heading back into the deeper parts of the territory. Tail flicking in thought as that bundle was being handled with care, as to where this den would be dug. It would have to be high enough to keep the water out and yet low enough to stay cool, it would be ideal with a hollowed log near by but she could go without such a thing. Critically the wraith eye'd the area before finally picking a spot to start digging, the bundle had been set aside for the time being.

Burke walked through the forest, he was on his way to dropping a carcass at one of the caches. He had already fed Meldresi with a fresh meal very early this morning, she was starting to show a bit and Burke was rather excited. She had been rather sleepy which happened while being pregnant he guessed. Then he happened to stumble upon a weak white deer calf that wouldn't make it through winter anyways, so Burke killed it. He started to dig up and drop the carcass in with the other meat for some other pack member to eat.

Burke's muzzle was all red from the kill. His immensely big body trotted through the territory to patrol the parameter. He wasn't keeping quieted he wanted to make sure everyone knew he was coming. He was the dark king after all. His docked tail was held high. He then spotted some movement from the corner of his eye and realized a wolf was digging. A grey female? They didn't have a grey female. Burke growled and instantly rushed forward ready to attack since Meldresi had not told him about this, alas she had been sleeping. "You better run quick if you don't belong here," he snarled, looking really vicious.

Abelinda was half way in, before a scent caught her attention. Likely one of the wolves within the pack here, partly she ignored it as she shifted aside a rather large and annoying rock. Bringing it out into the open, only did the wraith take notice of the wolf charging at her; that fur bristled and she was temped to take on a hostile action and yet she corrected her self as that body lowered to the ground and those ears flicked back, with that tail tucking between her hind legs about half way.

"It seems news doesn't travel quickly here." The wraith snorted at that fact. "I was accepted not long ago by a dame called Meldresi." Those eyes critically eye'd the male over, it was clear from his posture he was a beta or maybe an Alpha. Though this Meldresi had neglected to speak much of those within the pack it self, she couldn't say as to whom he was, at least not to her.

Burke's attitude bristled down for a moment when she spoke of Meldresi, well great. She should have told him, but then again she was terribly tired when he reached her. "Ah, that would be my wife," he spoke. Pulling his lips back over his teeth and turning into a more calm demeanor like the alpha usually was around his pack mates. He didn't say sorry, because the large bulk male didn't feel like he needed to apologize for protecting his territory. Plus the girl took the right stance when he approached. Good, she already understood her rank then.

"She was very tired when I brought her a meal. She did not tell me she accepted a new wolf. I'm Burke, Alpha of Black Feather," he spoke. It was still a bit strange after all Meldresi stepped down from being alpha since she was pregnant and she wasn't feeling too well. Plus normally he would hear the howl. He disregarded that now for the moment. He trusted his mate's judgement so he wasn't going to nitpick at this female and re-interrogate her again.

The wraith eye'd the male for a few moments, before bothering to rise. Giving that coat a shake as the male spoke of the women being his wife. Well, at least she knew both of the alpha's now however. But it did make her wonder just how many more encounters she'd have like this. Annoying at best and a waste of her time ultimately. Rather then saying such, she choose to question the male. "How many healers does this pack have? If any?" A simple question surely, he'd know whom here held such a tittle and who did not.

A nod of the head was given at his next works. "Pregnancy does that to a women." Quite suspecting they were his own, but she merely let that rock roll down the hill before stepping back into that hole she was digging up, quite doing so carefully. Being sure to make the den wide and long enough for more then just one wolf to be within it, she suspected to have quite a few visitors..

Burke eyed at the silver lady before him. He had been the only grey wolf between all the blacks and a few browns. The large male found it rather refreshing, hopefully his next litter would have some grey. That would be nice, though black would give them more coverage in the shadows if they used them well. The male studied the female for a moment. She was clearly making herself at home already. So she also better do her duties in this pack by helping out on the border or catching game. He wondered what her trades of interest were. "We have three, so if you want to pursue that trade we don't have a need for it," he pointed out without much interest. His wife was the best healer of Teekon, she saved his life after all and her two youngsters learned everything from her which meant that they would also be the best. Still maybe Meldresi wanted some extra healers who knows.

Burke nodded shortly. "Sometimes, not always," he corrected, after all he had seen quite a few females pregnant. He never saw Dalia be as tired as Meldresi had been this whole time. The dark male wasn't sure what it was, maybe it had been because Meldresi is older now. He was older too. They both knew that this would be their last litter.

Abelinda rose a brow at his words. "A pack can use more then just three, but if you desire for me to do something else, very well then." Thus she stopped her digging and pulled her self out of that den. Those ghostly gaze shifted to the male, "If a healer is not needed, then what does the pack lack?" A hunter she could be, but far as a warrior or warden, that would be a new niche for her to fill. One she would have to  train in and better her self at. Those eyes blinked as the wraith debated, wondering just what trades he was seeking, but whatever he named she would be sure fill such a niche they were lacking altogether.

At his words however, a brow rose in question. "Age or illness could be a cause." She spoke lightly but carefully as well, knowing as one got older they were more susceptible to illnesses. The immune system simply wasn't what it was before and grew weaker after years of wear and tare. Some were luckily to never have to worry over such a thing, simply their immune system were surprisingly strong for their later age.

Burke studied her for a moment and then shook his head. "Of course we can have more than three healers, but if you want to do more trades then you might skip the healer part," he pointed out. Burke thought for a moment. "Wardens, Gamekeepers, Naturalists, Chroniclers," he spoke from the top of his mind. "We have also three warriors," he explained. "It is up to you really. I am not stopping ou if you want to be a healer." He wanted wolves to feel at home, and feel like they could help out in the pack. With that latter and interacting with Burke would give wolves a good rank.

Burke nodded slowly. "She is not the youngest, but still perfect," he spoke. To him Meldresi would always be perfect. She was his light and the one that he could share everything with. Even now he was alpha and she wasn't it was all because she had her babies. But Burke was certain that once she felt better she would resume her place next to him.

Akela was finally back to Blackfeather woods. He was following his nose through the territories. Not finding Burke near Meldresi's location was rare these days.  Those days away from this pack were actually a nice thing, being on his own, traveling and such, the only thing that was different was that he had to come back somewhere, cause he had made a decision. Walking towards Burke 's smell , he saw him discuss with a female he did not know yet. New arrival while he was gone ?  He hoped that one was less of a psycho as the rest of the bunch.

"I know  I'm perfect, thank you for pointing that out to new ones. " he spoke up, having only heard the end of the sentence. He smiled brightly and nudged the alpha to say hello .  " Afternoon, darling. " he greeted the woman.

An ear flicked in thought. "I'll take on the trade of a healer then." It maybe something they didn't need but it was quite something she could use time and again..even if it lead to the more toxic side of things. As for two others, well she could do those despite her small and lite size. "I'll also do Gamekeeper and Warden then, that one however I may need training on." The wraith wasn't going to lie about her rusty skills in fighting or the lack there of such.

But she was distracted from saying more, as a darker male proved to walk in on their little meeting. A brow rose at the males attempt to get cozy with the alpha, but she said naught of it and merely watched. "Afternoon." She repeated, without the 'darling' part. Was he trying to flirt with her? Alas such was typical of males, thinking with one part of their body rather then their brain.

Burke nodded slowly, not fully agreeing but if she wanted to be a healer so bad he couldn't really stop her. The male didn't have much with plants like his mate and stepdaughter have but, he had his other skills. "That is more than fine. Search for Akela, he is also doing both of those trades and you could hunt or patrol the borders together," he advised. It would give Akela also a new hunting buddy which mean the could spend more time with Meldresi. Though he did enjoy hunting with his best friend. That made him wonder how Akela's trade was doing.

Speaking of the devil the male came trotting in. Burke looked up and gave him a fond glare. "I was talking about my wife," he pointed out but did greet him with a nudge. "As you can see Akela is a good puppy that comes when called," he returned as a nudge back to his friend, since he just mentioned the wolf in question. "Good to have you back, my friend."

"You'd be surprsied just how similar  me and your wife are. " he simply pointed out and gave the alpha a bitch say what glare before waving his tail happily.  "me too...me too. I'll have to have a word with you later. My mission has quite the interesting outcome" he informed his alpha then turned to the newcomer.

"He's not been too harsh on you, has he ? Trust me underneath all that grumpy bear attitude, he actually cares.  I'm Akela. " he continued the conversation, introducing himself more properly than before.  He took the time to study the female. She had not that much of scent of the alpha on her, which was weird, but maybe Burke was about too. He too had lost the scent with all that rain and traveling.

-Kicks life-

The serpent merely shook her head at the pair, they nearly acted as if they had been mated. Strange pair indeed, but one to be noted never the less. "As long he can keep up, I have no quarrels joining him." A bit of a tease perhaps, as she ducked back into the den that she was digging out. But that didn't last long, as she was soon quite finished of course. Then again digging a den at the right spot usually was a quick affair.

Stepping out, she shook her silvered pelt, to held rid of any clinging dirt and debris. Turning her attention to the males once again, she waited to see just what they had to say. Nodding at Burke's words, the serpent partly couldn't help but wonder a bit. "So it would seem." A light remark to Akela being a good pup when called. Interestingly enough. "As for the gruffly old man, his been doing his job; nothing more." Taking on a bit of a lighter tone, though getting the serpent to uncoil would be a difficult one. "A pleasure, I am Abelinda." Rather she began to critically eye the male over, noting a few things about him such as some fresh to older wounds from a feline, a puma perhaps..

Burke raised one lighter dot on his brow as the female continued digging. He wasn't so sure if he liked that the female was just continuing on doing as she liked. Alas, they were beginning to reach the end of the conversation. She seemed to busy anyways. "Oh, you would be surprised," he pointed out, because Akela might be somewhat blind in one eye it didn't mean that he was bad at hunting. Burke huffed at the male who could also be terribly annoying at times. "I was perfectly nice," he pointed out which the girl confirmed for him.

Burke watched the two for a moment. "I have to continue," he spoke. "Feel free to arrange a hunting date,' he pointed out and nodded to the two of them as a way of goodbye. He was planning to go on a patrol after all and that needed to be done quickly so he could return to his Meldresi. He had a strict schedule which meant only having so much time to chat.

feel free to continue! :D

Akela frowned at Burke. Leaving the scene so soon, he just shook his head. He knew what that meant. Burke would flash forward his patrol to be with Meldresi, and he had to make the second round, which did not leave him much time with Abelinda. "Abelinda , is quite the charming name, " he spoke and caught her eye.  "Saw something you like ? " he pointed out and slyly smiled. "are you joining the hunter club ...cause Burke mentioned a hunting date ? " After she had replied, he gave a nod. "Well then I shall get to some huntign with you. For now, may excuse me, I have to go back to my duties. " he gave her another nod and trotted away into darkness.
