For @Lex or @Kaylan or whoever! I'll make more if this isn't your cup of tea.

First she had explored the hot springs and witnessed the pretty rain - in one place but not another - and then, feeling charmed by the experience, she thought to return home and tell her father about it. Halfway back her mind trailed off to other things; she watched some snow geese flying overhead, listened to their honking, and then was distracted by the nearby forest. Thoughts of her adventures (and sharing those adventures) vanished as soon as June slipped her pale self in to the tree line. There were many things here for her to investigate; new smells, new sights, and old ones she couldn't remember. About an hour passed before she remembered what her original plan was - and by this point, she was deep in the heart of the strange forest. This was not home, this was a big dark and scary place she had never been before. June couldn't remember wandering this far from home, but suddenly wanted to return to the mountain as fast as she could. The only problem now was... Finding her way out of Neverwinter Forest.

Outrider thread.

He’d returned home from visiting two packs, giving what information he had to give to the leaders, and decided he rather liked the trips between one pack and the other.  Getting a feel for the surroundings make him feel more comfortable.  When he’s home for a day or two, checking up on Izo and making sure she’s settling in, he heads north east of the pack to another he’d been informed about.  However, deciding to cut through a forest, the thickest he’d ever been in, turned out to be a bad idea.  He made note to go around it on his return home.

Even though the sun had been up when he entered the forest, he isn’t sure the time of day anymore.  Occasionally he caught a sliver of sunlight peeping through.

Something moves out of the corner of his eye and while he had been paying as much attention as possible, his nose is still filled with the scent of pine and wintergreen.  He shakes his head, turning, craning his neck forward to better see.

“Hello?”

Maybe if she moved faster, she could find her way through the forest faster too. It wasn't logical - but nothing about June was logical, she had yet to develop any proper instincts or forethought - and would likely result in more issues. But she tried it anyway. Racing down one natural corridor between trees, spiraling in a different direction, racing down the next -- sometimes coming upon a dead end, or a fork in the road. A few times the girl had to wedge herself around things or climb haphazardly over them; but eventually there was a break in the tree line, and she was glad. The open air felt like freedom. June raced through the field within the forest, nearly colliding with a puffy white cloud that had settled somewhere in the thick darkness. She didn't realize it was actually a wolf, and careened on by.

A white blur flashes by him before he’s able to get a good look, spinning around to try and see where she’d gone.  His feet his the ground, following the scent of the one that had gotten by him.  He tries to keep his steps light but his large form his the ground hard each time.  Chasing her wouldn’t be the best way to get her to stop, instead knowing he’d cause a little more fear, he needs to try a different tactic.

He makes a wide angle through the trees until he’s managed to get in front of her. He barks, hoping to slow her down enough to get a word in.

She stops for only a split second, maybe because of the tree that has popped up in her path or maybe because of the sound she heard - she was going so fast that the sound was there and then not there. Spinning on her heels, June nearly slides in to a stand of young growth as she re-positions. When her body finally comes to a stop, she slumps in the dirt and pants heavily, almost ignoring the big pale wolf standing so close by. Her tongue nearly drags against the grass beneath her head - she pauses mid gasp and spits the grains of dirt out, very unladylike, but it tasted bad and she didn't like it. With her chest pounding and her lungs aching, June almost forgets to say anything at all to the pale wolf - but at the last second as she gets up to dash again, she spots him. "Oh - who.. who you?"

The young wolf seems frantic and Lex worries something might be the matter.  He takes a step back, giving her space as she searches the surroundings and makes a motion to disappear once more.  But suddenly she stops, realizing he’s there, and speaks.  Lex doesn’t notice her speech is broken just yet but he softens his posture in hopes it might relax her a little.

“I’m Lex.  Are you okay?” he asks, glancing over his shoulder and then back to her, over her own.  “Is something wrong?”  He hadn’t noticed any immediate threats when he’d approached but maybe he’d been unobservant the first time around.
