If a young wolf in her pack had been complaining in front of her old Alpha, they would've received punishment, but Reek was layed back and understanding. Plus, the young she-wolf had a good reason to speak up. The pecking order was very much unfair, for sometimes the wolves of higher rank do less to help the pack, while the lower ranking members work the hardest, and do not get rewarded.
