Finally, the day for her glorious triumph had arrived. Veritas had found the ultimate cure for Malice's sore throat. Honey! A fairly common remedy, but there had been no cause for bees in the Hollow, resulting in a search for the elusive creatures. Buzz, buzz, buzz, then snap! No more bees. Bears had probably rampaged all over the territory before the wolves moved in - or that was her theory, at least. She wasn't a tracker! She didn't study the habits of bears, damn anyone who assumed she did.

Moving in as carefully as she could, Veritas scoured the woods for any signs of bees. Flowers weren't very present in the midst of winter, but whatever. What the woman did was to follow one lone buzzer until it keeled over and died. Upon closer inspection, she realised that a) the bee was male and b) half of it was missing, leading to conclusion a... or perhaps it had just stung some idiot that had tried to disturb it.

In the early hours of the morning, the bees were slow and sluggish, giving the woman time enough to pluck the hive straight off the branch and make a run for it, probably knocking daze some thousand bees. More than a few fell out of their safe haven, being licked up by hungry insect-eaters, while others, spurred awake, flew out and began to pinpoint the attacker.

Oh, shit.

Picking up the pack, Veritas began to scramble, knocking both bees and honey out of the hive, suffering the agony of quite a number of stings as she dug out dazed and gloopy bees, clearing the nest of most of the insects. Just for good measure, she stomped on the mess, then left them to the predators, making off with her hard-earned prize. Time to hang it up somewhere near the Medic Den, she decided, let the remaining bees make more honey, and collect the sticky, sweet substance to pool it in one of those dips that water leaking had caused... Hmm

Erosion was a powerful tool.
