Sunbeam Lair A day of golden greetings

The little girl wandered a bit, but she overall tried not to get to far away from the rock she had marked, therefore she wouldn't wander from the territory. She turned over small stones and watched pill-bugs scamper away like mice from a cat. Sorrel inspected every spider web and the insects that were in it, for she may find out what type of plants lived here based on the diet of the prey. She wondered if any honeysuckle or other wildflowers grew here..? After searching around for spiders and cobwebs, she laid out in the sun. She was a ruby against emerald grounds. Sorrel licked webs and dirt from her paws, wanting to look clean if she were to meet the pack, no matter the sour taste in her mouth. She out a chuff, trying to signal any other pack members in the area that she would be open to meeting them.

Hello :D

Times were changing and so was he. Leo was now eight months; so close to adulthood. His image had changed drastically since he was a small child. He no longer inherited the elegant form of his mother, but instead the strong form of his father. Still, the cream colored boy did not quite reach the standards his father had.

As he walked past a puddle from melted snow, he couldn't help but look at himself and smile. Look at you now Leo, a voice had whispered, Look at what this journey has made of you. He couldn't tell if it was meant to be insulting of complimenting. Everything the demons uttered were always a mystery. Leo was always confused on whether or not they were on his side or not.

Leo was so wrapped up in his own mind, that he could not since a presence near. His head shot up as the sound of another wolf rang his ears.

Instinctively, he had followed the sound. His dead eyes met with a more lively pair. There sitting before him was a female with a fiery top and a calm underbelly. She seemed to be about his age. Pretty, was the first thing to come to mind. "Uh.. h-hello," he muttered in his usual anxious voice, "You must be new here. I-I'm Leo."

The little girl looked up as a handsome cream male entered the area. "H-hi there...I'm um, I'm Sorrel." Her minty blue eyes fixated on him. He had a wonderfully creamy coat color and stunning silver eyes. "I-uh I'm new here, yes. I stumbled into your territory cause I can't...mmn smell..." A little bit of shame tinted her voice and she looked away for a moment. "How about you? When did you arrive here?"

He seemed to be just as nervous as she was. The strong young she-wolf had a body that was a bit more slender than his. He seemed to be around her age, maybe 2 or 3 months off. Sorrel wondered what it would be like to grow up with a wolf her age....

Sorrel, they repeated. It was a nice sounding name. His ears pricked at her next sentence. Can't smell. "Oh? I can barley h-hear at times." It wasn't because he was almost deaf, it was because he was constantly hearing whispered and scrambled words no one else could hear.

"I was o-one of the founders of Ryūjin," he answered, "When I w-was little, Asterr saved my l-life, so I swore my loyalty"

She smiled,finally she had someone who she could relate with. She got up from the place she was resting in and nuzzled his shoulder. She let out a thrum in a friendly greeting. "That's great! It's so cool you helped found this place!"She smiled at him a she pulled away. "What do you like to do around here?" She asked quizzically, she had just been lying around studying herbs. It was nice to have another friend.

Leo froze for a moment at the touch. It was very foreign to him and he didn't know what to do. Still, it felt very nice to the youngster.

The boy shrugged. "N-not much. Just walk around t-the borders and try to hunt things." After the pack hunt, the boy had been inspired to learn more hunting. Still, inspiration did not hide the fact that he didn't know the ins and outs. However he could say he was getting closer to the prize every time he tried.

"I also l-like to travel a bit. Not t-too far though, but someday I will." It was a goal to be able to see everything he was able to see.

"I-um you don't have to be nervous. I won't do anything. I just want to have some more friends around here,you know?" She gave him a smile. She licked his idea of traveling the world, though she knew she could never travel alone, for her absent nose would get the silky-furred girl killed. "When I was little, my aunt always kept me in the cave because of my nose. When I accidentally came to Ryujin, it was the first time I had ever been away from the den. I can imagine how great it must be to be able to travel without an escort..." She spoke softly. She turned her eyes to her friend, she wondered where he had traveled, and what plants he had seen in those places, ahh, the true thoughts of an herbalist.

His face heated up at what the girl said next. "Oh, um... yea." he let out. Leo could understand where she came from. The boy hadn't many friends around he could speak to. There was Asterr, Jolon, and Desna though. Still, Asterr had to lead the tribe and he hadn't seen Jolon much. And Desna was someplace around Blackfeather, which made him uneasy.

Leo perked his ears at Sorrel's short story. "That sounds awful," he remarked. The female had must not seen much of the world, unlike himself. "Maybe you can come with me on an adventure sometime?"

Her heart caught on the thought, she had never imagined that! "That would be wonderful! I would love to see more of the land and find new herbs too, I really really want to become a healer." She thought of all of the wonderful places to go. Her aunt had spoken of plains that were lush with wildflowers and clover, which were both things sorrel was deeply attracted to. She gave him a bright smile...He seemed so...wonderful. The only personalities she had discovered were those of her sneering parents and overprotective, emotionless auntie. Oh, and her alpha's kind yet stern personality. And here there was a new one, a Leo personality.

A warm smile spread across his maw at the girl's excitement. It was a good feeling to help someone. Like, he was saving a life from decay. Had Asterr felt similar feelings when helping him?

Sorrel mentioned that she would want to learn about herbs. That had also reminded him of his dark coated step-mother. "You can learn more from the dragoness, Asterr. She's good with herbs. When my leg was injured, she helped me fix it up." Leo was so very grateful for that.

"Well then, maybe we can go tomorrow. I know a good place we can start."

Great! Plan on it, I want these to characters to get to know each other better! After all, they are the only to young ones who could grow up together!

The ember nodded her head happily at him and touched his shoulder one more time in a farewell. " I hope to see you soon, I can't wait to begin our adventure." The little girl then bounded off with her head high and her spirits higher yet. She couldn't contain her excitement. She let out a little yip of excitement as she bounded off into the forest, determined to make more friends.
