All Welcome

WITNESS THE SPACE THAT I DEFINE

the beast moved slowly across the plateau, pink tongue lolling between white, sharp teeth. he ambled, he wandered, he traipsed, heavy paws thudding against the grasses and flattening them against the rich soil.  the male's eyes, a bright apple green shined against the coming of the stars and savage absorbed the sights and sounds of the falling dark with a look of near exultation. his eyes narrowed until they were bare slits and his coal black nose tasted the breeze, thick, heavy chest expanding and contracting mightily with each breath. he could scent the wolves of donnelaith most clearly though he knew not of their name, and it would have made little difference to him anyway.

the tawny man feared nothing. he was alone but it would not be that way for long, he had a magnanimous quality about him, though much of it was feigned. at the end of the day he was nothing more than the name that had been spat at him through bitter, bloody teeth. a savage, through and through. he reveled in it, delighted by all the things such a title implied.  he let out a scoffing, coughing laugh as he looked down upon the sentinels from his perch on the plateau and made his choice. those strangers among the sequoias would have his faith until time allowed for something more. when the nighttide parted with the dawn he would begin his descent and make his obeisance before them, but for now, he was content to wander the plateau in the cool dark of the night.
