Characters may only post once per day.

Silver Creek: A stately woodland of cedar, fir, oak and silver maple with a lush carpet of moss hides the territory's namesake: its splendid forked creek. The constant motion of the roiling surface gives an impression of flowing silver and a large population of fish lends the water a glimmering aspect. With deep pools, tumbling rapids, short waterfalls and shallow fords a-plenty, the creek is an ideal spot for both fishers and swimmers alike.

A herd of mule deer passed through the area during the early hours of the morning. One of the bears living at Hibernation Point managed to fell a large, healthy doe. It ate much of the kill, leaving the rest of the remains right near Silver Creek's eastern border. There is only enough meat to feed 3-4 wolves max.

Spring was out patrolling when she caught scent of the fallen deer, after being able to smell the bloods.  The Alpha began to make her way towards the kill cautiously in case the predator still lurked around Silver Creek.  She saw none though, to the point that she came upon the remains.  Little was left of the deer, but it looked like it could feed at most 3 to 4 wolves.  Although Spring was hungry, she made no move towards the meat.  Somone else in the pack would get it, although she would make sure that two wolves that would be reserved for the meat would be Laurel and Indra.

With that Spring tilted her head back and howled for the rest of the pack @Laika @Casmir (if he still resided in SC) @Shreya @Rexxar (if he still resided in SC), @Gaia and @Sansa.  She told them of the remains that lay here and that it would be distributed between two wolves, the rest would be given to Laurel and Indra.
I promise I will love you forever.

Laika was quick to hear her friend's call and she pivotted on her heals, bounding as fast as she could. As she neared, she could smell blood. Then deer meat. Her stomach churned and cried for food, and the hunger drove her faster. Her thin body that was beginning to give away to boniness slowed her down, but not by much, and Laika had arrived there soon after the call. She eyed the meat hungrily, but refrained herself from tearing at the delicious carcass. She was absolutely famished, but she knew there were others that needed it more. She would get her turn.

She touched her nose to Spring's shoulder in greeting. "How did you find this? This will benefit us all so much!" Her voice was laced with hunger, but she sat down upon her rump, forcing hersef to wait until Spring gave her the okay -- and after she and Spring had secured a good amount of food for Indra and Laurel. Her heart ached for poor Milo, but she pushed it aside. They had two hungry bodies now, and she would help provide for them.

meat.

Cas couldn't believe it. he glanced up from where he had been playing with the kids, ears perking at Spring's call, but he didn't move. there were a couple of reasons, and they were scampering around his paws. surely @Shreya would watch them while he went, but he also didn't want to leave the kids unattended if neighboring wolves showed up.

and so he stayed away, keeping an eye on @Indra and @Laurel while he listened to the distant sounds of the pack gathering.
please send all PMs regarding garait & casmir to relmyna

The female’s ears perked when Spring's rang out through the pack lands. She'd been less than thrilled with the change in leadership, but she could not pass up the opportunity of a meal by continuing to ignore Spring's presence. Sansa hurried towards the source of the call, her eyes widening in disbelief when she arrived upon the scene and found that there was indeed meat. Her gaze swept over the forms of her pack mates as they gathered in the vicinity. She realized she didn’t know many of there names yet and although she was to blame for that, she had a hard time mustering up enough interest to care.

She hung back away from the others, pacing restlessly while her tongue swept over her hungry jowls. The pack’s pups had to eat, of course, and whatever meat was left over surely wouldn’t feed more than one or two wolves. She worried that outsiders would be drawn towards their gathering place, and so she kept her eyes trained on her surroundings for any sign of visitors.

Two wolves arrived, which Spring though was well enough.  Already she had sorted out in her mind who needed the food more than everyone else.  Indra and Laurel stayed in that group.  Yet it would also be good for @Shreya to have some too.  Shreya wouldn't have to arrive though, Spring would make sure that she brought some back for the elder herself.  Meanwhile she decided that either Sansa or Laika could have the last piece since they were here.  Then she would ask Laika to bring back some for the pups.

Her eyes slide over the only two wolves that had showed up for a moment before speaking.  "I'm glad to see you both here."  She began.  "Two pieces of the carcass shall be distributed to the pups, Laurel and Indra, which I would love for Laika to bring back to them.  Then I will bring a piece back for Shreya.  You two can decide which one of you can have the last piece of the carcass."  With that Spring left, after grabbing a piece of meat from the carcass of which she would give to Shreya.  All the while, trusting Laika to do the same for the puppies.

Spring's out

Laika gave Spring a swift nod, diving in and stealing one tiny bit for herself. She had to, she was so hungry. She had to fight herself to not devour the whole thing herself. She was glad that Spring had thought of Shreya too. The elder needed food just as much as the puppies.

Laika bent down and tore a piece of flesh for Indra and Laurel, getting back up and turning to Sansa. "You can have the rest Sansa, you deserve it," she mumbled around the piece of carcass. She gave the fiery female a smile and turned away to dash off to the pups. Deep inside she wished she could stash the rest away for herself and Casmir, but she would find something else.
