Even when asleep, he'd been stirred by the scent that had slowly started to surround him. From beside him it had flared out, coating the entirety of their sleeping space and urging him to wake up. Yet, he'd fought off the urge, wondering if it was perhaps only a dream, up until the point in which he'd been touched. Nudged by his lover, he'd allowed for his lids to slide up from over his optics, blinking once or twice before turning to look at her directly. There was no longer a way to deny that the scent was real, rather than an untrue concoction created by his unconscious self. Her heat had come again, but this time he felt no need to hide himself away and guard her in secret. No, she was his and vice versa, and no one could prevent them from doing as nature so strongly suggested. Thus, he'd risen to his feet, inching closer to her as his nose found its way to the fur around her neck and had then proceeded to burrow into it. He'd inhaled her, intoxicated by the intensity of her fragrance that came from being so close. Still, though, he did not take her.

A formal discussion regarding their wants had not taken place, and so he'd held himself back for the first few moments, keeping his nose buried in her fur as his voice was searched for. Did she want children? Would she leave him if he were to jump her bones right then and there? She was someone that he couldn't stand the thought of losing, and so restraint was practiced for the time being, head tilting up from its lowered position so that he could look towards her features. "Is this what you want?" would be the only words to leave his mouth, formed into a question that he was desperate to be given the answer to.
