@Aeronwyn here we go!

Pristine blue covered a vast area of the flatlands that sprawled out as far as the eye could see. With the sun setting over the horizon, the sight was one to see for sure. The clouds barely touching the skies were colored pink and purple with the setting of the sun cutting the pastels with a fiery orange and red. Birds chirped in the distance as the famine slowly found its way to an end, and yet, the new commer to these lands was fed quite well in comparison to the others it seemed.

The beast stood proud at the top of a small rolling hill, his muddied coat staining the beautiful lush green of the gardens that surrounded him, with ruby eyes catching the bloodied rays of the sun. It was easier for beasts like him to survive in a famine, those without rules or a conscious could easily feed themselves of bretheren, and that is what he did. Food was bountiful and weak, he just had to catch them.

Jagged claws cut into the soft flesh of the earth as he traveled closer to the water's edge for a drink, the hot day was coming to an end but that did not stop the sun from forcing the beast to take a drink and nurish his frankenstein form. Small rabbits fled as he approached the grassy edge, zig zagging their way through the grass to escape the predator that did not care to hunt them at this time. Entering the water, he felt the cooling touch of the water caress his muscles and enjoyed the satisfying liquid that now graced his tongue. He kept his ears open for anyone who would dare jump him from behind. He was always ready to defend.

Steel orbs glinted in the falling darkness, waiting or the time that the colours of day turned to bloodless night, for that was her time. When she haunted the earth as a ghost wood, sinking her fangs into any that opposed her. Of course, her pelt carried scars from these past nights, but few, for the ghost was a fighter, and a good one at that. Her paws fell softly on the earth as the wraith moved outside of the borders, out of the woods that smelled of death and hate.

Soon she came across him- a monster of a wolf, dark pelted and ears perked. She approached without fear, for she was confident in her abilities. She stood at the water's edge a short distance from him, not greeting him yet but watching him cooly before dipping her head for a drink.

Oil and stench pooled around him in the waters, floating to the top as a sickly layer just swimming with the current of the waters of the lake. His tail washing up with the waves of the lake licking the shores softly with every push and pull it offered with the rising tides caused by the moon's presence in the night sky. It was a full moon tonight, the sphere slowly grew brighter in the sky as the time ticked on.

He could hear her before anything else, a new body joining at the water's edge. He stopped drinking and lifted his nose just high enough to smell out the new commer. A female. she joined at the water's edge, just enough for him to see her at the corner oa ruby glance. Medium built, scars, she wasn't anything too impressive at first glance but she minded her own business at least.

Bold of you to come so close from behind. Barritone vocals struck the air before he continued his last sips, quenching his thirst finally. With that, he turned, muscles easily pulling himself out of the water's grasp as drops of water trickled down and echoed in the lake's pool until he found dry land again. Shaking off the excess water, he didn't care about his fur beind disheveled.

She saw it from the corner of her eye; the scum and filth that spread from the wolf like a raven's wings in flight. Revulsion filled her, and she lifted her muzzle from the water's edge. Ripples disturbed the layer of filth, she stepped away from the water's edge and watched as he did the same. At his words, she did not change the emotionless mask that was her face. His voice was a deep baritone, something that may have been admirable had his pelt not been quite so offputting.

She glanced at him, coldly, and took a single step toward him. Her eyes flashed, her beauty marred by the cold ice of her features. " Bold of you to be out so close to your bedtime " she said smoothly, challenge glinting a moment in her eyes. This male was one of the most...interesting...she had seen in quite a while.
