Jorunn settled in to her embrace, and she cried softly. The family had suffered pain, absolutely – the loss of Nova Peak was a distant memory for the girl who had been too young to truly remember many of the events, but she did recall the fear she felt when she, her mother and brother had been terrorized by the bears of the Grove. Swift had lost his eyesight that day – and while her other brother was still alive and breathing, she wondered if in part, he had lost his life as well.

Jorunn spoke, and she closed her eyes, a frown knitting itself upon her features. “He didn’t come visit us.. let us know..” She did not grasp why – only after the words slipped out did she begin to piece together the possibility of Whittier’s trepidation at doing so – he had wanted to avoid Eshe, and Scimitar’s new happy family.

She had certainly wanted to, at times.
Are you deranged like me? Are you strange like me?
Lighting matches just to swallow up the flame like me?
Do you call yourself a fucking hurricane like me?
