All Welcome
Spring sat alone under a silver maple early in the morning to think about the pups that she had pushed out of her mind for so long.  Marlin, Jaycee and most of all Hazel.  If she had been more careful would at least Hazel still be with her today?  Maybe.  Her sweet agouti colored pup had died to young.  A soft sad smile light Spring's features as she remembered how much Hazel had looked just like her, yet Spring's sweet little girl had had a much different personality.  Hazel had been so outgoing, so determined, so... wise for her age.  The pup had been beyond her years... but now all of her time was up.  Hazel was dead and she was never coming back to the land of the living.  Ever.  Spring whinned, and stood, beginning to walk through the Creek, her home, her terrian.  A bsign escaped the Alpha.  If only.

Spring walked for quite a while, till the sun was high in the sky to signal that it was afternoon.  Afternoon... that had been Hazel's favorite time of the day.  Her pup had lounged around at these hours taking in the warmth of the sunlight.  She had been very calm, but now she was gone.
Gone.
Gone.
Gone.
Spring sat once more as she padded under another tree, to cool down in the shade.  She wondered if Hazel would have approved of who she was know.  Spring hoped she knew the answer.

It was late that Amber woke this day, and she loped gently through the woods with her eyes half closed when the sun was at its peak. They fluttered gently, only open enough to see for a while. Her raven paws carried her forward in wherever she faced, but it was then that Spring's scent tickled her nose.
Her ocean blue eyes blinked open further, and her ears cupped towards where her sister was. Her pace picked up, a smile lighting up her soft face as the brown pelt of the alpha came into view. But something looked wrong, off, about the woman.
               "Spring? Are you alright?"
Her tone was gentle, but worried, What was wrong? She trotted closer and stopped at her sisters flank, reaching down to sniff her and nuzzle her little sister better.

Spring was lost in thought about her dead pups when the sound of a voice pulled her out.  Amber.  Slowly Spring turned to face her sister fully lookin gonly half awake and only barely noticed when Amber nuzzled her.  "Je vais bien, juste un peu fatigué.  Merci de demander si."  Spring lied to her older sister, then gave Amber a weak smile to try to add on to it.

She didn't want to spill all her troubles to her sister as she had to Shreya.  It was not that she didn't trust Amber, because Spring really did trust her sister.  It was just that she wasn't so sure that she herself was ready to tell anyone else about Hazel, Marlin, Jaycee or even Zander... yet.  It didn't seem like the right time either, so Spring tried to change the subject.  "Comment aimez-vous ici jusqu'à présent?"

Her sister took up their other language, and Amber was easy to switch tongues. They were both easy for her, though since leaving her birth pack she'd become accustomed to speaking the one almost everyone knew. The brown woman gave a smile that didn't reach her eyes, and it was easy to see that she switched the attention off of her. Amber was a little offended Spring didn't want to talk about what was clearly bothering her, but she couldn't argue: In due time, her little sister would want to talk.
"Fatigué , à droite. Je suis bien le règlement , a rencontré certains de mes camarades de meute."
Amber gave a nonchalant shrug with her soft words, but her ocean eyes lit up in the next moment. It was Heston that crossed her mind, and with a giggle the fae couldn't help but tell someone about their day by the river.
"Un, en pariculier , a attiré mon attention . Heston , l'un des loups en attente de se joindre . Il est doux , intelligent . Je voudrais mieux le connaître."

Spring listened to her sister speak, glad to hear that Amber was settling in.  Although she found herself feeling a pinch of jealousy when Amber began to talk about Heston, appearing to have a crush on him, her eyes twinkled glad to hear that Heston was started to blend in well here and carefully pushed away her jealous feelings.  Crushes had never gotten her anywhere anyways, although maybe things were different for others around her.

"Je suis très heureux que Heston se porte bien ici en raison de quoi il ressemble."  The Alpha told her sister with a small smile, curious to hear more about the new possible recruits from Amber.  She was genuinly glad now that the the breif flash of jealousy had passed, to hear that Heston and Amber were getting along well or at least she believed this from what Amber had told her.  Hope filled Spring for the Creek.  These new possible members would be good for them to strengthen their numbers.

When Laurel awoke in the morning, she stretched her legs, one at a time, let out a biiiig yawn and then got into motion, ready for another day of adventure. Today was one of her rare adventures where she didn't bring her sister — usually the two were inseperable — and soon she found someone else to bother. It was Spring, one of her favourite wolves to bother!

Excitedly Laurel got into position to sneak up on Spring, pressing herself low to the ground and approaching carefully, making sure not to make any sounds. Then another wolf joined by Spring's side, but Laurel was too far yet to hear what they were talking about.

When she drew nearer, Laurel found out that she couldn't understand a word either of them were saying. She trotted towards the pair of them and cheerfully asked, having forgotten about her earlier plans of sneaking up, "What'cha doing? Do you guys have code language? Can I be in on your code language?!" She expectantly looked at Spring and Amber, not even thinking of introducing herself properly; too excited about the prospective code language she was gonna be a part of.

Amber missed any signs of jealousy Spring might've shown, too wrapped up in her mooning. The younger woman seemed, or so she said, happy for her sister, or perhaps more pleased that a new recruit was close to fully joining.
Before the shadowy woman could even form a thought, one of the little girls bounced up behind them and started questioning their oddly spoken words. With a laugh, amber lowered her face closer to Laurel's with a grin. She saw no reason to not
"It's another language, one called French. Spring and I learned it when we were very little. I can teach you, if you'd like."

A needed smile shone on Spring's face as soon as Laurel came bursting in, wanting to get in on their 'code language', she was about to tell Laurel that she and Amber were speaking French, that they had learned it when they were young, but Amber bet her to it, giving her a pretty good explaination and then offering Laurel lessions for the language.  Spring herself would also be more than happy to give Laurel lessions in French, same for Indra if she wanted it.

Spring eyes Laurel with a warm gaze.  "I would be willing to teach you French too and Indra if she wants to."  Spring paused for a moment before continuing, thinking.  "Can you say bonjour Laurel?  It means hello."  The Alpha tried to explain to the pup, the smile still lingering on her face.

It was somewhat disappointing that what they were speaking wasn't some sort of secret code language. She was asked if she wanted to learn the language, and though she was feeling a bit unsure at first, Laurel then agreed, "Yas!" and waited for the first lesson to commence with an attentive expression.

The word was pretty hard to pronounce and so she butchered it easily as she tried, "Bonyer!" She looked excitedly at her company, hoping to receive praise even though she hadn't said it very well. "What's it mean?"

Laurel looked a little put out that it wasn't something secret, but then it seemed her puppy energy kicked in and anything was better than nothing. Spring gave her the word for hello, offering to teach both the puppies as well. The little one tried and, to her credit, did okay for her first time. With a giggle and a whisk of her feathery tail, she stressed the word carefully.
"Bon-gour, its the word for hello, a greeting. Just like Au Revoir is the word for goodbye."
The two words were a good start for the pup, she assumed, and turned her ocean eyes on Spring. Amber figured they could either wait till she mastered those two to teach her more, or keep going.

Spring's heart warmed at Laurel's very cute attempt at bonjour.  Then she asked what it meat, which made Spring's heart warm again, because Laurel always seemed very distracted witht he world.  She had told it meant Hello and only seconds latter Laurel had forgotten.  Her sister then came to Laurel's rescue right before Spring was about to tell her, saying that it meant hello, which was perfect.  Then Amber went on to expain how to say goodbye which was Au Revoir.  Spring nodded in agreement, then waited for Laurel to try it out.

"Ambers right.  So tell me Laurel, do you think that you can say bonjour for hello or au revior for goodbye?"  The Alpha then asked the pup curiously, also reminding her of the english definitions of both of the words.

Laurel was pleased to be praised for saying the word like they had instructed. Her tail wiggled excitedly at the praise and she smiled widely. "Yay!" she said, before another word was introduced -- au revoir. It was a bit harder and Laurel pursed her lips while she considered how she was supposed to pronounce this word.

Spring then chipped in and Laurel tried: "Bonyer and oh river?" She tried to grab for words that she did know to borrow the pronunciations from.

Spring stepped in, and the shadowy woman sat and let her take the reigns with a grin playing on her maw. It was cute to see, her sister teaching the orphaned pup, but never in her wildest dreams did she consiter Spring having had children. In fact, she wondered currently if Spring would take a mate and have children. What would her little sister do when she went into heat?
Hell, what would SHE do when she came into heat? If she'd found a mate by then, would Spring allow Amber to have puppies? Lost in thought, the elder Ciel woman didn't even hear Laurel's attempts at the word. She was staring higher, up at the sky with her ocean blues, clearly detached for a moment.

Laurel made a very cute attempt at saying bonjour and au revior, instead saying bonyer and and oh river.  It was okay for one of her first lesson and they would have time anyways right?  Laurel would grasp the language someday and so would Indra too if she decided that she wanted to learn.  It had taken her some time to learn too afterall.

"Your doing wonderful Laurel."  The Alpha praised the pup warmly, smiling brightly.  "You can try those words again if you like: bounjour and au revior, but if you want to learn more do you want to know how your name would be pronounced in French?  Not everyone gets a special name in another language, but since you have a name that is also the name of a beautiful plant, you get a special name," Spring paused for a moment in thought, before continuing, "in a way you get a code name.  It's pronouced Laurier."

"Ooo!" Laurel excitedly chimed when she was presented with a code name. She knew it — this was code language after all! She longed to learn more of the language, but for now she was mesmerised by her code name. With a cheerful grin she said, "Lauryer!" repeating the word as best she could, then some more: "Lauryer Lauryer Lauryer Lauryer Lauryer! I'm Lauryer!" It was still a lot like her own name, but different all the same. Eventually after she had tested it enough, Laurel turned back to Spring and Amber, ready for more knowledge to be absorbed on this cool code language.

i'll add a fade since amber's gone for now and this thread is getting old, if you guys don't mind :)
