It was night.

The darkness had quickly become one of his favorite times, and the boy tended to be inactive and lazy during the day, instead to awake at night when the world was quiet, and he alone in his activities. He harboured a general feeling of annoyance brought on by most of his siblings, and his tiny brain had come up with a simple solution; avoid them. Especially the loud one. His ears stood on end now, and he was able to catch all manner of sounds, and the loud screeching of his sister annoyed him to all end.

He stood near the entrance, not quite so adventurous to venture away from his mother, but having had quite enough of examining her and setting his sights on the world outside. Scrappings, rustlings, the sound of night-creatures going about their business captured his attention, and he scanned the clearing in silence, not letting out so much of a peep as he searched for something interesting.

He did not know what had brought him there, nor would he be able to explain why he allowed it. But deep into the night his paws had carried him to the Glen without hesitation, and his figure burst into the clearing without second thoughts.

The light above cast a sharp shadow beneath and in in front of him, making him look even bigger as he blended with it without trouble. He made his way across the clearing in a straight line, going directly to the den entrance, and finding one of them in his tracks, a spiderling. He looks at him with curious eyes, and wonders whether this one would be as complicated as Xivilai.

Another entered the clearing, a dark shape. It was not mother, but the other-mother he had met days before. He stared a moment, but the absence of sound and movement did not excite him in the least, and his gaze fell away. Soundlessly, he surveyed a moment longer before standing, and turning away from the dark man and the den he had emerged from, fast paced paws taking him away, into the Glenn and likely, should the man not intervene, to become lost somewhere in the small yet huge area to the young one.

The small one stared, and for a moment Damien thought he was going to speak. His pale eyes stared back, feeling an uncanny vibe in their connection, but it was simply broken as the pup stood and started walking away from the den. Damien observed, and worried he might get lost, but glancing back at the entrance of Nemesis' den he saw nothing in there that might stop the silent child. So he took it upon himself to protect him, and followed with silent steps to wherever the child would lead him.

Lead the other he did, on his own seemingly random trail. Occasionally things would catch his interest, and his head would swing around to stare, but then he would continue on, gait an ambling waddle. Suddenly he stopped, not looking to the other, but to a tiny insect that had garnered his attention. He was suddenly aware of the other behind him, and he turned, staring at the other in confusion. Why was he here? He mumbled something incoherent, watching the other with huge eyes.

Damien followed in silence, making sure the kid didn't fall into a random hole on the ground or something, and watched him explore the world around him for what was probably the first time. he wasn't sure how far he could allow the child to go, perhaps it was too soon for him to even leave the den, so he decided to drive him back home. He lowered his head to nudge him towards the den when the little one stopped to inspect a bug from up close, but he suddenly turned around and protested in a strange combination of sounds making Damien jerk his head back up.

"We need to take you back to your mother," he said, probably talking to himself given the pup's inability to form coherent words. He tried again, this time going all the way and pushing the kid gently in the direction of Nemesis' den.

Words. The other spoke, most of the words he spoke lost to the space between them, not understood. Save for the last. Mother. The boy did not want to go back, for he liked his mother but liked adventure more, at least tonight. Thus, when the male lowered his head to nudge him, connecting gently with the boys side, he back pedaled quickly, refusing to be led. He was, as one may call, a stubborn child.

"Aakka" No.  His first word was a negative,  not of this language but the one his father spoke to him lovingly. The word was delivered with a stare, before he turned and set of at a dead sprint (read: slightly fast then normal waddle) through the undergrowth, yearning to explore more. Whether or not he got far was entirely up to the dark king.

The kid spat something in Inuit that Damien would never understand, and his immediate reaction was to look around, hoping to find Kove without success. And when he looked back at the kid he had already escaped him, waddling away at an impressive speed... Not really, he was slow as fuck, and right after panicking a little Damien simply walked up to him and grabbed him by the fur behind his neck. That had been enough, now he would be Kove's or Nemesis' problem again.

He was lifted, not be his mother but by a stranger . needless to say, he was not impressed, and hissed, snapping his fangs irratably. but he could do little, and merely adopted a dark expression and bristled, very, very unimpressed with this male at the moment.

Promptly Damien reached their destination, and wether the kid liked it or not he was returned to his mother. "Nemesis?" he called from the entrance, dropping the grey-scale pup in front of him only for a second. "Alright, go back inside, kid," instructed Damien keeping his voice calm, but with the demanding tone that characterized it.

He obeyed, though not without a stare that promised murder in his young optics, stalking into the den and to his mother, nestling at her side to become merely another lump of many as he slept.
