All Welcome

In the few weeks since her adventure and subsequent meeting with her cousin, Eimear had been rather put off by the ordeal, and thus she had not been as curious of the world as her siblings. It wasn't so strange for her to hide out in the back of the den, or to scamper around the mouth of it, or maybe even play with the tiny shrubs and saplings that had taken root since the green's return; however, she did not go too far, and looked upon each passing adult-shaped figure with disdain. She worried that she'd do something bad again — that maybe if she went a step too far from the den she'd be told off, and herded back. Eimear did not want to cause a fuss and she certainly did not want to be bad, oh no. Today was no different from the last, then. She slunk quietly out of the den and found herself a nice spot beneath a nearby sapling, and flopped over, waiting for the time to pass — how absolutely boring.

hi cousin! sorry i am a touch rambly.

Time seemed to trickle by slowly, or at least that was the feeling that Pasha had as of late. It wasn't the case, as time marched forward ever at the same rate as always. But he couldn't quite shake it. Still, life was good and it was quiet, and those were things that he was quite ready to comfortably accept. The change of pace was a welcome one and by then, as the late summer began to ebb into the early clutches of autumn, he also welcomed the cooler tides of air that came to them.

On that particular day as he moved to seek out his aunt and uncle, he had not thought he would happen upon their brood. But it was impossible to miss the flash of cream as something—rather someone—flopped down through the trees. Instinctively he moved towards them, treading carefully and quiet with a certain wariness he would have reserved for the borders had he been there to patrol them.

Instead, what he found as he peered around the girth of the pines was another puppy tucked away. This wasn't Rannoch or Cypress and up until that point he had only an inkling that there were others in their midsts. So when Pasha moved on from his so called hiding spot to approach, he at least made some noise in advance.

"Hey, what are you doing?"

Not rambly! <3

No sooner had the tawny pup found herself a nest in the dirt, and there was a voice. It didn't matter what the voice said when she heard it; whether it was a friendly beast or a scary one, Eimear pulled herself up as soon as the sound hit her ears, as if anticipating some sort of oncoming trouble. She slipped on the loose soil and nearly went down again, but after some awkward fumbling with her too-long legs and her too-big paws, she was nestled against the base of the young tree as if it would save her from whoever this was. The girl shyly looked around — almost like she was saying, who, me? And then murmured a lame little response back to the stranger: Nothin'.

She seemed uneasy with his presence, but Pasha couldn't fault her for that. It wasn't like they had encountered one another before and what he did know thus far were bits and pieces of what had become of his family—they had increased in number, mostly.

But it wasn't too difficult for him to figure out who she may have belonged to. His nose didn't betray him here, she definitely wasn't some rogue sibling of his that his father had neglected to mention. "You look like Aunt Kaskara," he opted to say, brushing past her statement. "Are you one of her kids?" Better safe to ask than to be sorry, anyway.

Aunt Kaskara?

Eimear didn't know who that was. She wasn't aware that her mother had a name besides whatever gutteral noise her siblings made at her; so when the boy spoke, she regarded him with a dubious expression, and then gave a shrug of her little shoulders. My ma and da are o'er dere, she murmured, and made to motion between the trees with a flail of her head. But then she wasn't entirely sure which direction she was facing, so the girl paused mid-motion and looked around, brow furrowing. Or, or dere, flick to the north, or... Iunno, had she lost them? Oh no! What if she didn't find them again? This was just like last time! They'd be so mad at her — the poor thing pulled herself away from the other boy by a step or two and spiraled, trying to identify her path, only to bumble and plop back down on her bottom, having made herself dizzy.

Well, maybe this wasn't really getting off on the right foot. For a moment she seemed a little perplexed with what he had said and yet before he could correct it, she seemed to be swept up in a wave of disorientation. Pasha crept a little closer when she plopped down, part in concern and part in comfort as though he could do anything about it.

"You all right?" While he had no issues in tracking down where his aunt and uncle may have been, he didn't quite catch on to the fact that she had gotten all discombobulated over it. If anything, the turning had just sent her off balance and he didn't remember those days at all.
