All Welcome
Roll: 5 ; where 1 & 6 fail, 2 scavenges a small carcass, 3 successfully hunts a small prey animal, 4 successfully hunts a small-medium animal, 5 scavenges a large carcass

Finally, she carried on from the northernmost tip of the mountain base, looping tightly around its eastern section. There, the aspen trees became denser still, creating a thick forrest of slender white bark jutting out from uneven snow banks. Where stubborn coniferous trees grew between its deciduous relatives, the ground was clear, although frosty, littered with a bed of pines and twigs beneath each one. It created a visual chaos; a world of unpigmented canvas interrupted by shadows, trees, and soil. Valkyrie moved deliberately, her pace unhurried as she tracked an irregular path from tree to tree. Her pale belly blended in with the snow, and if she positioned herself just right, the rest of her would dissolve into the shadows. Breathing soft and shallow, she parted her jaws and began to track the scents in the air, using the harsh, morning sun in the cloudless, azure sky as her cover.

Simatra had set off at a run. Her brief interlude with the flaming she-devil had been enough to tip her balance, so much so that the bone she had intended to bring to Israel was left lying almost forlornly as she fled the scene. A few choked breathes came and went as she forced her paws across and out the other side of a frozen wetland and into the depths of a forest. A forest. She wasn't sure why she'd entered the damned trees in the first place, yet what really made sense right now.

The gold furred Kali felt a lump rise in her throat, raw and reckless emotion clawing it's way onto her tongue. So caught up in her own turmoil, Simatra barely noticed as her nose lead her to the frozen remains of a large elk. She swallowed and willed her breathing to slow to a shaky rhythm as she inspected the slain beast. It was relatively untouched, save for the large gash in the stomach where the killer most likely feasted, and Simatra tore right in. She'd noticed the shadow of course, but assumed it a fox or a scavenging coyote. Not to mention she wasn't in the mood for meeting more strange wolves in a forest.

Food always made things seem better.

Apologies in advance if my myriad of assumptions are wrong <3

She was drawn to something not wholly fresh, but not old enough to have its meat picked away by scavengers. In fact, the carcass remained largely intact, although it no longer steamed with the heat of the life it once held. Valkyrie felt no remorse for the creature. Instead, her stomach lurched with a familiar pang of hunger. She pressed forward, only to see the meat be sniped by a wolf who had approached from down wind, just enough so that Valkyrie was, for a moment, caught off guard. Stiffening, the obsidian cloaked beast froze, hackles threatening to rise.

It would be foolish to walk in, rigid and bristled, upset over something she had not even killed. Releasing a deep breath, she stepped forward lightly, chuffing softly so as not to catch the stranger fully unaware. Ears swiveling, she stopped a mere few paces away, gaze shifting from the wolf, to the meat, to their surroundings. With a flick of the tip of her cotton white tail, she let loose her silver tongue. "If you have no pack to return this carcass to, perhaps you would consider sharing it with a traveler."
