All Welcome
It took many moons for Mannoah to understand what had happened to her - that long after she had stopped expecting it, her first heat had come to her like a thief in the night. Could it be that the banded demon had awoken it in her, or done some strange ritual in order to bring it forth? Could it be something in the air, or a spirit in the land? Mannoah did not know, but suspected much of these wolves, this territory. Cursed or blessed, it did not matter. She had lived through worse, and she could live through this.

What mattered was power, and there was great power here.

The dark woman, hungry for the king's company in the days following her capture and then listless in the days following her heat, had not given much effort toward exploring her new dwelling place. She spent most of her time in the demon's cave, ready and waiting for him to come to her.

But he did not hunger as she did. Would anyone? The woman did not know, but found that her wants went on unabated even as her time of fertility drew to a natural close. Her fear was that Skellige's interest in her would wane without the encouragement of her heat, even if he had not yet cast her from his den. She'd remained there these many days hoping to entice him, but on this day, he was nowhere to be found.

It was cold in the caves. Cold through all the land, at least to the dark one's tastes, but especially cold in the empty cave in which the demon king slept. Without him there to warm it, she was finding herself less and less inclined to remain.

Mannoah emerged. Blinked lava-bright eyes that prickled balefully over the sand, the wicked sea. A wet, black nose lifted skyward and twitched, and the dark woman followed the first scent that caught her interest. Male, she knew. Nothing else.

Unwittingly, Mannoah followed the scent of @Szymon.
