Silvertip Mountain The Garden of Eden

Ally sucked in shallow breaths as she approached the borders of Silvertip Mountain's territory. She hoped with every bit of life she had left inside that the whispers were true and this is where she would find her sister. It had been years since she'd last seen Eden, but she'd never stopped looking for her. For so long she had thought that she was alone, that all of her loved ones had been taken from her, but now there was a fleck of hope. She sat back to keep from collapsing, and tilted her head upwards to release a weak howl. She knew that Eden's mother, Emory, had been training her to take up her craft as a healer, and she prayed that if EJ would have her, she could be of some aid.

She had been wandering the territory when she heard the howl, just familiar enough to catch her attention and weak enough to peak her interest. Eden made her way toward the wolf, wondering who was that was calling her. Amari? No, it couldn't be. Could it?
The hope seeing her brother again took her from a trot to a dash despite the refusal of her hind leg. She thoght about what she would say when she saw him, what he would look like, how he had found her--a bounty of questions ran through her mind. But upon reaching the border she saw that it wasn't Amari.
It was Ally.
Frozen and confused, she stared on at the sickly woman, nearly collapsed before her. Unsure of what to do or how to act, she called for @Steady to come. This was her sister, returned, and dying. She needed to help.

Steady heard the low howl, and almost ignored it, thinking it was too far away to be at their borders. He hadn't realized the reason it sounded far away was because the wolf howling was weak. He was debated on whether or not to go to the borders anyways when a second call rang out. It was Eden, and she was calling for him. 

He wasted no time then in getting to the pair. The stranger didn't look in great condition, and Steady could see the worry on Eden's face. What's going on? he asked, his gaze traveling between the two.

"Steady, I--this...I have to take care of her. She's dying and I just", she said before trailing off into rushed mumbles. "My sister, she's dying. I have to help." She was trying her best to hide the shakiness in her voice. How? She'd thought all of the others had been killed and yet here was Ally unable to even ask for help.

Steady looked to the obviously upset Eden, to the obvious sickly stranger. It seemed this was his new pack mate's sister, and she was very ill. It was not something Steady could, or would, ever ignore. But, there was also something else he couldn't ignore. Eden, you're going to have to pull yourself together if you're going to help her, he said softly. It seemed as though her brain knew what she needed to do, but her emotions were getting the best of her. He hoped she wasn't like this in every emergency. Go start gathering what you'll need. I'm going to take her to the communal den, he instructed. He couldn't very well let Eden care for her sister here on the borders, in case other wolves happened by.

He stepped up to the stranger, and gently grabbed her by the scruff, lifting the top half of her body off the ground. He began to drag her into the treeline, which was no easy feat, seeing as how she was a rather large wolf. It would take all of his muscle, and the majority of his will power not to stop until he got to the family's den site. Once there, she placed her gentle on the ground, his mouth open as he panted his exertion.

She had so many questions that her head throbbed with curiousity but she knew that they would have to wait. Ally needed her, no matter how miraculous the circumstances. She wasn't sure exactly what the issue was, so it seemed to make more sense to meet Steady with her sister and examine the issue, praying that she had enough time to do so.
Once she arrived at the commonplace, she began to scope out her sister's limp body for any sign of life. For E, the weak heartbeat was just enough to give her hope. "Will you watch over her? I know what I need."
Then she was off. At the time of her arrival she was only able to carry a small portion of all she had collected, namely celandine and more importantly, stinging nettle. If she was right, this could save Alyssum's life. If she was wrong, she wouldn't have enough time left to save it.

Eden seemed alright with him carrying her sister to the den area. Once there, he sat back on his haunches as she looked over their new guest. He nodded when she asked if he would watch over her. Of course. I won't leave, he confirmed. He knew it might be a risk, leaving her here alone, knowing that she didn't smell of them, and hadn't technically been accepted into the pack. A good Guardian would question what she was doing, after trying to run her out. 

He watched Eden go, hoping she knew a way to help the female that lay at his front paws. He lowered his head to sniff at her, somewhat like Eden had, though he kept mostly to her head and shoulders. She didn't seem to smell like any pack, which gave him a good indication that she was a loner. Later, he would delve into Eden's past, wondering about the pair and where they had come from. But, for now, he would allow her to tend to her sister.

By the time Eden made her way back to Ally, she had controlled her own nerves and was more than ready to do what she had to. She saw that Alyssum was nearly unconscious, so she figured the wouldn't need the celandine at that moment and looked to the nettles dropped before her. She took time to chew a few before nudging her sister onto her side and placing them in her mouth. 
She stepped back and observed the weak swallow. She wouldn't know if it'd worked for quite some time and the anxiety was eating at her. "I know this isn't something an alpha would normally allow, so if it is of more convenience, I can stay with her at the border tonight." She truly had no issue with the idea, so long as she wasn't alone. If there were someone with them, she could stay on the border until she knew her sister would live.

Eden returned, and Steady stepped back a bit to give her some room. He watched as she turned her sister on her side and stuck something in her mouth after chewing it. He wondered what it was, and what it would do for the sick female, but he kept quiet, not wanting to interrupt what Eden was doing.

The new recruit was correct- this wasn't something an Alpha usually did. But, Steady was no ordinary Alpha, either. He quickly shook his head. No, I don't think staying at the borders is safe. I don't want any wanderers coming around, trying to see what's up, he said. He motioned to a den a few yards away. That's my old den. It should be big enough for the both of you to stay in there. I'll check back in the morning, he said. She isn't to leave this area until I say otherwise, he instructed. Sister or not, Steady knew nothing about her, and didn't want her walking through the territory unescorted.

And so it was set. Eden would keep watch over her sister until the morning. The night would be sleepless and plagued with what-ifs, but it wouldn't be her first. She would protect her family at any cost, even if it meant staying up through the night to make sure the breathing hadn't yet ceased.

"Of course, no of course. You have my word."

Eden didn't argue, and Steady nodded once more, rising to stand. Howl if you need anything. I won't be far, he said. He figured it would be tough for Eden tonight, worrying about losing her sister. Steady knew he couldn't do anything about that, except offer his support with whatever she needed.

He turned and walked back towards the borders, intent on covering the stranger's scent there and marking his own.
