All Welcome

Pyro usually preferred to eat the softer flesh when possible, but he often found himself eating last and struggling to get the leftovers out of what he shared with Vassago. That was the downside of being the runt among his litter. The bone had barely any flesh left attached, but Pyro had been gnawing fiercely at it to make sure not a cell of muscle was left on it, or perhaps, if he managed to break the bone, he would get to the core where there were soft parts he could still eat.

It snapped, and Pyro released the bone from his mouth to admire his work proudly. But the bone was not broken. Pyro frowned, he could swear he had felt something snap, and he sniffed around the bone, hoping to find at least a splinter. He found a tooth instead and raised his head to look around wondering who had dropped such an important thing.

Turns out it was him, and panic took him as his tongue ran over the hole on his gums where the tooth should have been. MAAAAAAAAA! he screamed in terror before taking off with the tooth safely held in his mouth, forgetting the bone and hoping that Malice would know what to do. She always knew what to do.

OMG PYRO'S NEW AVA IS SOOOO CUTE!

Burke laid close to the carcass as he watched his young scramble over the last pieces of meat. They had a pack hunt together and most had left. He just finished a cleaning session with Malice which was good for their bonding. They needed to work on their bonding more. Just as she was gone for a drink, he assumed, seeing that he had been napping for a bit. Pyro screamed out. He snapped his head up in alarm and watched the pup scramble around. Clearly he was trying to find Malice but seeing her lack of presence Pyro would have to do with him now.

Burke pushed himself to his feet and stopped before Pyro. "What is wrong?," he asked him with his booming voice, that alone could stop someone in his tracks at times. Burke looked down at his youngest son. He seemed to be holding something his his mouth. Was he stung? No the insects were mostly gone. What trouble could he have gotten into now?

He's handsome like his father :'D

Desperation kicked in as Pyro ran aimlessly with the tooth in his mouth. He had somehow forgotten that Burke was around, and as though his powerful voice hadn't been surprising enough, he blocked his way with his gigantic body, forcing Pyro to halt on his tracks from an impressive speed. But that was not the problem, he had managed to stop without colliding once again with Burke. The problem was that with the effort he'd made to do that he had lost the tooth he'd been so cautious not to lose. "Oh fuck" was written all over his face as Pyro looked up at his dad, ears flat and eyes wide. He didn't dare say a word, for he knew dad would be mad. He had broken his mouth, probably disabling him to eat ever again, and on top of that he had swallowed the frigging tooth.

Pyro was just one big fat fuckup.

Burke watched the horror on his son's face. The male frowned lightly, not sure why the pup was so scared of him. Or perhaps at something else? He cleared his throat when Pyro didn't answer. The big male sat down and looked at his son. "Well? You can tell me," he urged him on, perhaps now his booming voice was a bit softer. He looked over Pyro to see if anything was wrong. But he looked okay.

The large male kept the frown on his face mostly because he was confused about his son's behavior. Why couldn't he just tell him what was wrong? He was his father he wouldn't be ... that mad. He hadn't been mad when he marked over his marks at the border.

Dad pushed, pressuring Pyro to spit out what he was hiding. He got anxious, nervous to the core, fearful of what Burke would say if he found out how bad he'd fucked up, but he knew that there was only one right thing to do. Hiding these sort of things from either Burke or Malice was never a good idea.

So he smiled, nervously pulling his lips up to reveal a set of perfectly white teeth except for the hole where his left canine should be. He swallowed hard, anticipating Burke's reaction, but submitting to whatever destiny he was bound to now.

Burke looked down at Pyro pulling a weird face to reveal his teeth while he could curl up his lip. Burke decided to just let it go and not even try and teach him he could show a snarl too. This face he was currently pulling was rather comical. His pale eyes fell on the tooth that was gone. "Ah. You lost your tooth," he stated, not seeing the big deal of it. It happened to all pups.

Then he could already hear Malice scolding him for being nicer and more involved so he tried to wag his stump of a tail a bit. Really the things he would do for family. "So good, Pyro!," he let out. "Don't be nervous, this is normal you get your adult teeth and for them to be in your mouth your baby teeth have to fall out," he explained to his son.

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and swallowed hard, ready to take the blow or whatever came after fucking up. He could already hear the growl building up in dad's throat, the saliva blowing on his face from the yelling... But none of it came...

No, really... Burke didn't even seem worried about the tooth and for a moment Pyro was as confused as never before. He peeked with one eye to find his dad's goofy stump of a tail wagging. What? He opened the other eye and looked at his father... This was... Normal? Gravity seemed to increase upon one side of Pyro's head, which tilted to a side as his comically large ears unfolded from his skull. "Really?" he asked, trying to understand what had just happened. "Adult teeth??" he freaked out, he had to wait until he was an adult to get his tooth back? HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO EAT? WHY WAS BURKE SO CALM? HOW DID TRUMP WIN THE ELECTIONS?

Burke watched how his son was so confused. A mother would probably found it adorable but he didn't. To him it almost looked like his boy was almost stupid. He did not say that to his face though. "Yes. Your tooth is falling out because your bigger adult teeth is pushing it out. You can't see it but I see already the white in your gums from your bigger tooth," he explained. The male looked at him, and decided that the shock on his face was perhaps a bit of fear too.

"Slowly they will all be replaced. After you get all your big teeth you need to be careful with them though," he explained. "Your big teeth can't be replaced." Burke looked over the boy hoping that he would be a bit more calm about it now than he was before.

Dad kept repeating that it was fine, and for a moment Pyro could not understand why... But at some point in the conversation Burke's deep voice managed to calm down the kid, who went from ballistic to utterly confused to ultimately calm and comprehensive. He licked his gums, trying to find the 'white' that his father told him was already visible, and much to his relief he found a lump that felt a lot like a tooth. So he wasn't going teethless and this was a normal thing? Cool!

"Did you have baby teeth, daddy?" he asked curiously. He'd been told before that even mom and dad had been pups once (which was super weird to think of) and if they were, perhaps they too had gone through this... "What's it like to have adult teeth?" he asked before an answer could be given to his previous answer. You just have to agree with Burke that Pyro was a little bit dumb... But what kid isn't?

OMG BabyBurke can you see it? I can't xD

Burke noticed that the pup calmed down more and was pleased to see him take a calm breath. However it seemed that the lack of oxygen to his brain made it malfunction. Burke looked at his own kid for a moment with a skeptical gaze. "Yes, Pyro. I did have baby teeth," he spoke to him calmly. "Well these are bigger. I wouldn't say sharper because baby teeth can be really sharp. They are bigger so we can take down bigger pray. They can also handle more force. We have a really strong jaw and we wouldn't want our teeth to be breaking if we tried to bite through bone," he explained to the other. He decided to just make it a general lesson about teeth because the boy seemed to want this kind of information.

*screams* cutest lil thing eva !!!

By then he was seated comfortably, drawn by is father's knowledge of the world and his deep, wise voice. Step by step Pyro would learn his way around life despite the little faith his father had on him, and he would prove everybody wrong. He was strong, he was loyal, and he was passionate about life, and that alone would take him great lengths.

"So.. How long until I get mine?" he asked the final question. Now that everything about how teeth worked was clear, there was only one thing left to resolve, and it was getting the actual thing pop out in his mouth. It felt weird not having his teeth, and he couldn't avoid running his tongue over the jelly hole over and over again. It was just uncomfortable.

Burke noticed how his son was listening and wished that Vassago would listen like Pyro was doing currently. He listened to his question. "Over the span of a few months. This one falling out meant that your new tooth was pushing it out. So slowly you will loose all your baby teeth, new ones would come up in a few days," he explained.

Hopefully the boy wouldn't freak out again with each tooth he was losing. Burke hoped Pyro was smart enough for that. [b]"It means you are turning bigger and into even more of an adult,"[b] he spoke to him, and who would have thought he would. It was a miracle he even stayed alive during the move, being so weak.

Maybe we should try and wrap this one up so we can have a new one?

In awe the kid looked up at his father, holding the fallen teeth in his mouth with his gentle grasp and trying to imagine his dad as a toothless pup. It was rather hilarious to picture, so an amused grin came easily to his childish face and he giggled softly. His dad's explanation made it all even more funny, for his choice of words was old-fashioned and mature, while Pyro tried to imagine him as a little kid. He would have to tell Vassago about it, and they would laugh together behind their dad's back, but there were more pressing matters before he could give foot to child's play again. "I wanna show mom," said Pyro with a jump, hoping that Burke would know where to find her since he hadn't been able to do that himself.

Yes! Definitely!

Burke smiled lightly when the pup had to laugh again and his worries were less. That was a good thing. "You can show your mother. I will walk with you because I am heading home anyhow," he decided and nudged Pyro in a friendly matter. He quirked up his lips and then walked into the direction of the den. Hopefully the next time Pyro wouldn't freak out about loosing his teeth. Except when he was an actual adult, then he should freak out.
