Private
Emma felt the heat of the woman's blood flow against her tongue, her last breath blowing against her ear. With one swift movement, Althaia's head was removed and tossed to the side, a howl of victory escaping Emèlie's maw.
Her victorious celebration was cut short, however, once she noticed a small body hiding the brush. A child. She'd broken one of her only rules - to never involve the innocent - and now there was no going back.

Her mother was dead.

There was no doubt, no question in Witch's mind - though the girl did not understand death itself, she knew that Althaia would not be rising from the rose of blood spreading around her, soaking her. That she was gone. That now, Witch had no parents, only Keoni and @Nikai

Even they, however, were not guarenteed to stay - nobody was, but this was something else the young flower knew little of.

As the amber eyes of her mothers killer fell upon Witchhazel, the usually quiet and calm little Convel-Quinzel burst out in a war cry type howl, strangled and weak from the throat of a cub - instead of running further into Easthollow, to find safety in one of her packmates, the flower rushed to the corpse of her mother. She stumbled, sobbed, and cried "Mama!" until she was crumpling to the grey mass of her mother: for the last time, little Hazel breathed in the scent of she who birthed her, felt her soft fur.

Gunna tag Nikai just in case he wants to jump in, follow her to the coast, see her leave, whatevs! :3

Shit. Emèlie didn't want to hurt the child if she didn't have to, but it also couldn't be left alone. If it was to go to someone and speak of what'd happened, who knows what Nemesis would do? It was imperative that Emma's identity remain anonymous.
Emma took a step back as the child sobbed over her mother's corpse and tried to consider her options. She could kill the kid now, but that seemed to brutal. She could run, but that put the entire mission at risk. Or, Emma could take it with her.
Hey kid? I'm...I'm sorry you had to see that but uh... Emèlie began as she slowly inched closer to the small, fragile body. She lunged forward, trying to grab the child by its neck, though it was hard to tell how successful she'd be with such a small target.

Paws stained with her mothers lifeblood, Witch didn't see the move for her - even the words fell on deafened ears - until her scruff was already clamped in the jaws of the killer. A mean, angry howl quivered from her throat, not yet strong enough to call across the territory and beg for Steady to save her but emotional enough to spew her hatred at the woman who now held her.

Lifted into the air, Witch struggled for only a few moments - her head whipped back and forth, all four paws paddled and clawed at anything she could reach, and her body wriggled and writhed - only to find it was all for naught. Resigned, the little flower let her blue eyes fall upon her mother one last time, blood soaked and lifeless as she was. Keoni, Nikai came to her mind: Where were they? Would they be okay? Would Witch ever see them again? A whimper left her throat, and the sobbing claimed her.

                                  "Ma... Oni.... Kai...."

Though the child struggled, it was to Emma's delight that it eventually gave in. She looked over her shoulder to the head she was told to return with, before groaning and dropping the kid in front of her, tail caught beneath Emma's paw. She grabbed the head between her jaws and tossed it outside of the territory where she would eventually come back for it. Then, she pulled the child up once more and began on their journey.
Sorry about that, kid. Though her mouth was full, she still tried her best to be understood. Your mom did some bad stuff. I'm just here to deal out the punishment. Emèlie knew she couldn't bring the child back to Blackfeather, so she had only one other option - kill the kid. Sure, she didn't want to, but what else could she do? Emma wouldn't do it here (she had more respect for the kid than that) but she would do it eventually, for it is simply what had to be done.

For a brief moment, Witch thought she was going to be let go. Anger still seethed in the girl, and even when she was trapped by her tail, she was not afraid.

It was when her mothers head was thrown carelessly into the wilds beyond the borders that fear took hold. What was going to happen to HER? Nikai and Keoni were fine, safe inside the borders. But here she was, pinned to the earth in her mothers blood, watching a head roll off..... The little flower began to tremble from more than the renewed sobs - she was afraid that next it would be her head rolling away, her blood snaking out and dying the area around her crimson.

Witchhazel was not a fluent speaker, but there were words she knew very well: Sorry, Mom, and bad were just three that stood out. From this, the smart litter girl could put together that her mother had done something wrong.... But why was Witch here? Had SHE done something wrong? Should she have stayed at the den and waited for Althaia to return? Should she have made herself known?

Could she have made a difference?

Her wild, unclear and frantic thoughts were cut off by again being lifted into the air. A tiny wail left her mouth, filled with panic and hatred - for a minute, she thrashed and fought again, but the grip on her scruff was tight, and eventually she had to just go limp and cry.

Fade with your post and we can start the next one?

Emma was being careful not to hurt the child, and made sure that her tight grip wasn't hard enough to bring true harm. They had a long journey ahead, filled with unexpected twists and turns, thus it was best that they were both kept as comfortable as possible. Then, onto the walking, and walking, and walking, and wal...
